Maggi is German/Swiss. I mean, its headquaters in switzerland (with nestle) right on the german border but the large factory is a few Kilometers away in germany (right next to the swiss border :D). This cup meals you can get in all sorts of mashed potato (as you had) but also as pasta with tomato sauce, cheese sauce and so many more flavours. I only like the potato ones. They have been around for years. I remember my family used to go on camping trips all around the baltic and mediterranean seas and my parents stocked up with those cups. So when we had a day on the beach they would just heat water, take it in the thermos bottle so it stays warm and then at the beach we would eat those. Kinda what maggi canned ravioli is for music festivals - this is the classic quick meal at work, beach, camping, and so on. If you add a spoon of hot sauce, cream/cream cheese, or whatever else you can mix in it makes a nice addition to the mashed potatos. The lorenz stuff im not a big fan of - the cheese and onion (yellow bag) of crunchips is good. I dont like the "odd" limited edition flavours. NicNacs are probably their best product.

Just for the sake of completeness: A Maggi 5 minute terrine costs between 1.30 and 1.50 euros. And about the Duplos... The trick is to unpack the things and use the generously sized packaging in such a way that you hold the bar in it so that the quickly melting chocolate doesn't get your fingers dirty...

Maggi mashed potatoes: Never tried them, I´like the home made one: potatoes, milk, butter, salt and nutmeg. All nature. And btw: it was not onion, it was mushroom: boletus. Use the translater! ... and just for fun .. you may compare the ingredients list with the US alternatives. Would be interesting.
