I always thought OG Hmong songs talked too much about past lovers who they cannot let go or chose to let go. My dad listened to his sad depressing songs about the one he didn't marry all of my life until he had his stroke. It is actually quite traumatizing for children to know that their parents loved someone more than the one they are with now with the 5-7 kids they have together and how much regret they have in their heart. And here we are all doing the same things in our adult lives. Can you all just divorce your spouses you don't love and pursue that lover you love so much please? (Kids or no kids). And thus, we can hear more happy songs about loving the one you love so much currently and we can show our kids healthy loving relationships and hear less about cheating/toxic/unhappy marriages. Let's normalize divorce. Let's normalize working with what you got and not living so much in the past. Thanks.
