Cheer Hair Tutorial

Hey guys! This is how I do my hair straight for cheer comps! I hope this helps some of you with your hair and leave a video response if you try it out! Also, if you're wanting to do a curly pony do all the same steps except curl your hair once its in the ponytail, then tease!

I noticed for the pony tail if you start from the top it gives more volume. My 6 yr old is in competitive cheer and she just had her second comp. I did her ponytail tease like you did and by the end it was flat (she has thick hair) second comp I started at the top and it helps cuz it gives the hair time to dry, the hair rests in between the bow as it dries. It stayed til awards lol now I'm gonna try the no washing thing for her next comp in 3 weeks

everything stays and is bigger on FIRST day hair not second, because there are no oils in your hair from recent shampooing. that's the whole point of dry shampoo is to absorb oils that have built up since your last shampoo, not make it dirtier.

well that is true and false the oils make it look more messy and no oils make it go flat easy it kind of depends on the hair type

When your hair is really clean, the teasing doesn't really work. It doesn't get as big, because the hair doesn't have anything to stick to (when its dirty, it gets tangled more easily) Maybe it depends of your hair type, but personally, it does work better with dirty hair

The oils make the hair sticky/dirty! If you scratch ur head the day you wash it, the hair usually returns to place on third day hair it stays up where u scratch it. But you can always make clean hair dirty with hairspray mousse and teasing powders.

just a tip - to get the bump higher, i recommend not using the clear elastic on the poof. It pulls the hair and makes the poof smaller :)

The uniforms are not made to be "slutty" or "revealing" if that is what your implying. Cheerleading as a whole sport has changed, not just the uniforms. The uniforms are made to correspond with our body's so we can move without restrictions. (And of course we need some details, which explains the lace.)
