Harry's spare book showed him up as spoilt needy manchild. The book was really horrible to his whole family and showed the pettiness of harry. It proved his upbringing was pretty much normal.

The Sussexes are a classic case of wanting to have their cake and eat it. He reminds me so much of Edward VIII, but Harry is even more spoiled and entitled. The writing technique you mention where he gives a positive comment followed by a barb would be Meghan’s idea. I feel she wrote most of Spare.

He need to go home with the kids, hand them over to ANYONE in his extended family. Like Zara and Mike. Book himself into a top notch mental health facility and stay there until he's well and recovered from what MM has done to his life. MM will have a price for this kids cos she has a price for everything. We all need to forgive Harry. Show some kindness and compassion. I know my comment won't go down well with many of you. That's ok. Better to forgive and not hold on to the toxicity. Toxicity feeds Meghan. Reckon we can do without it our diets. Just an opinion. 🤔

It’s widely known that Thomas, her father who slugged she write to Clinton, P& G & from memory Peloso who was a Californian politician at the time. Because he was so involved with her school he suggested they make it a class project so the whole class wrote letters. Then he organised a camera crew to go to her classroom and they did a piece at the school BUT because P&G changed the wording of the add BEFORE any of the Markle campaign could have had an effect obviously they’d had many, many complaints before Markle’s construct. But she’s been dining out on that story all these decades later.

I've always thought that Charles behaved pretty decently after Diana's death. He didn't jump with joy then rush off to marry his mistress. He waited until his sons were grown men, with their own lives, and then felt he could finally turn to the question of his own happiness. Both Harry and William were being mean when they asked him not to marry Camilla. It's obvious that the religious feeling in that family has diminished with every generation, but Charles is old enough to have heard often the words of the Prayer Book that "Holy Matrimony is an honourable estate, instituted of God in the time of man's innocency", and these words would mean something to a man of his age. For his own sons to tell him "Oh, just shack up with her, Dad!" would be degrading. He wanted to behave honourably, and he probably worried about what would happen to Camilla after he died if she were still just a mistress. Harry was even more brutal in the Netflix interview, when he said that he thought it was enough for his father to have "his person" living with him; he stopped just short of saying "f*ck buddy" because that was all he saw her as. Harry has a nasty tendency to cherish his grievances instead of growing beyond them.

@@McCinderg You may be right. I don't really know what to think, we only have Harry's account of this incident, and it would definitely be in character for him to drag William into the mess so it doesn't sound like he's the only one making a fuss.

I've heard the only tv show Harry ever watched growing up was Friends. He has little idea of how 'regular' folks live. Example: it's very common the eldest sibling gets more (sausages!) than the younger sibling(s). Harry writes it as if William got more (sausages!) because he was the Heir. I agree with others that H has not grown past 13 years. He's immature and unaware but that doesn't excuse his and wife's actions and treatment to both their families.

From the day they left the pair of them are offering up 'cash for access', it was supposed to be a million each per speech on the circuit but double if they were expected to shake hands afterward. They weren't offering a hint of a gong for it though. The money raised was going in their own pockets, at least his father had it go into charity.

You have NO IDEA what Charles had to put up with during his marriage. You obviously don’t know about Diana’s childhood and how HER mother was treated by even her OWN family. You’re right in your observation that Camilla was an easy target & unless you’ve walked in someone’s shoes it’s not for us to judge. The King is a very spiritual man and not in the old “new age “ spiritual way. He’s extremely interested in ALL religions, which, if you’ve grown up with the Royal Family as a part of your life like me you’d know about the wonderful work he does with multiple faiths.

William and Harry were brought up, as were their parents, absent parents, their way of life from birth was nannies, boarding schools. There is no comparison, between the peasants and Prince Charles, Diana, Princess of Wales. I don't see Charles as self-fish or self cantered, I see him as a man who didn't get to marry the woman he first loved and as such ensured his son - did get to get the woman in his life. Charles said, he only had the ''affair'' after the marriage unretrievably broke down, this I believe. Diana had many issues, somewhat the same as Harry trying to deal with Meghan's threats of suicide (emmm well, you know what I mean) I wasn't brought up with two parents, never had the opportunity of Harry, or any where the near the opportunity of Meghan. Not everyone has the ideal life, but we get on with it, we ensure our own thwarted life with insecurities are not passed on to our children, that is the best we can do. I don't look back in anger at my parents divorcing, my only regret and greatest sadness was being split from sister - who after a few years of living we our grandparents she went to live with mum and I with my father, when I was 11.

Charles was between a rock and a hard place and in my view made the best of the tough hand he was dealt He was under microscopic review almost from birth then had to take a career as future monarch which included defined military service a restricted list of friends and more so when it came to girls he could date He was brought up as were many of us by busy parents with the help of Nannie’s most of whom were lovely to us and we went to boarding school from an early age Most British boys destined to be future leaders had similar upbringings Charles married the woman he was advised to marry which is nothing very new either Many of us assumed our aunts or inner family would gently introduce us to suitable future partners Sadly Lady Diana would have a tough ride being a princess headed to be a queen even though in paper she was a fair choice. Many of us liked her but saw shortcomings before the wedding for her choice as Charles life partner She deserved a lower stress lower profile life around the wider Royal court Charles had a few very close female friends including Kanga and Camilla but was from all evidence loyal to Lady Diana until after she had strayed and would stray many more times I am not judging her for that Harry has never been the well behaved understudy he would like to portray. I z ax m not judging him on that either but his book Whinge was hardly an inspiring read or something to cover Harry in glory The chivalrous knight was nowhere to be seen Sad all round

@@paddyjohnstone4744 Thank you, I've never seen Charles's life as easy, as a son or father. A ''now'' of the moment example is the whinge about William & Catherine not giving more time to work & patronages, I would think both their days are just as 'work' full as most of us, along with bringing up their three children. There's the example of two, that are trying so hard to give three children in abnormal circumstances the best shot at normality and being criticised for it. A no win situation all round. Charles was brought up in another time, probably the tail end of all the UK & World had known, following WWll played it's part. Diana & Charles did the best for William and Harry and continued to do the best for them after the divorce, IN THEIR VERY UNUSUAL circumstances. I do not give Harry a 'bye' on the grounds of his upbringing or being mentally unbalanced either in health or intellect. Yes, he suffered the greatest public sadness of his life, the death of his mother. His problem isn't the of blaming the paps who he thinks killed his mother, it is the man child in him, can't get over her behaviour; playing to the gallery, on a yacht in the Med with a playboy - he simply has coward away from the reality of that situation, just another of mummy's flings. He is being taken by Meghan DOWN THE SAME PATH.

I’ve really enjoyed your commentary on the books but this time I found it annoying commenting on King Charles faith which I think is a low blow, and not for us to comment on someone’s faith. Your comment on his relationship with camilla and no comment on Diana’s relationships and her poor mental state which I think must have been very hard for him to know how to cope with. I just found this episode disappointing, which I’m sorry to say.
