A walk around these two valleys with their history of over fifteen mills. With a stop at Buckhurst Lodgside cafe.
Approached from Cheesden, Birtle and Norden.

Lovely walk with an interesting history lesson...that little cafe looked perfect, good luck to them with the extension.

Yes it was a scenic walk, we want to do some more walking from the Birtle end, the views at the top were great.

The Cheesden and Ashworth Valleys have so many varied walks and so much of interest, and being almost hidden away, so quiet. About five years ago I went to Lumb Mill for the first time over thirty years, and was amazed to see how so much of it had disappeared. All three storeys on the front facade were still there previously. Lovely film.

There a lot of walks to be had aren't there, we are going back to do more around the Birtle area. I visited Bury archives library this afternoon and purchased 'The Forgotten Valley' book, it shows Lumb Mill in various stages of decline, particularly the storm of 1990.

We know Cheesden Valley and Ashworth Valley very well, also Peel Tower. Not far from Rochdale, so recognise a lot of it, like lumb mill. But not been to Buckhurst Lodgeside. I like the variation in filming techniques with aerial shots. You both cover quite a wide area in your walks. As always lovely composition with progressive chord changes. The additional instruments, enhance your music.

Thanks for your kind comments, I've actually managed to write some new pieces, retirement is great but doesn't help with certain jobs, like getting ideas down on a multitrack. I'm looking at various free VST's for more inspiration. Still discovering Cheesden, had a short walk around Birtle today.
