Amazing board build, both with metal working and woodworking.

Retired machinist here, made a living working metal but love working wood. Enjoyed watching this video, your ingenuity is impressive. I’m looking to make a cheese cutting board but find the pre-made wire cutting mechanisms cheap and flimsy. Yours is a brilliant idea and doable in my garage shop. Thanks for sharing this!

Hi Francois (Christo Kleingeld van Woodworkers forum). Many thanx for posting this very informative vid. You just confirm what I have been wondering about for a long time... A carpenter is not necessarily a person that only works with wood but to make the cool stuff you have to bring the grinders and steel closer :D Thanx for sharing!

Hi Clint, You can check wood-database.com for more info on Rhodesian Teak. In general it looks like it can be used as a "Food safe" wood but it might be an irritant to sensitive ppl. www.wood-database.com/rhodesian-teak/#:~:text=Allergies%2FToxicity%3A%20Although%20severe%20reactions,timber%2C%20it's%20not%20commonly%20exported.

Clint, all woods are toxic in some way. Some more than others. The wood database will give you an indication. The big issue comes when th wood is worked. The dust, inhalation and touch to sweaty skin is mostly when the allergic reactions occur. Always use a good dust mask 😷 and you will be good. There will always be that 1/1000000 person that is verry allergic to some wood species. For example I enjoy peanuts, but my friend swell very badly.
