Sorry Matt ... This one was over an hour and I couldn't make it all through it. My father's office was at 1060 Broad, the building right behind you 1:10 . Its senior citizen housing now. The tall building on the other side of Lincoln Park was the Medical Tower ... all doctors' offices. That's senior citizen housing now too. I don't recall the restaurant you are at today, Margarita. Maybe because my uncle's restaurant, the Blue Beacon, was opposite the old church 4:34 on the other side of Lincoln Park at the corner of Halsey St. Hamburgers were 15 cents there. (Same type of architecture as Margarita ... An empty lot today.) The church with the missing bells 4:40 has been derelict for a long time. It used to have trees growing out of the roof. More Newark history next time.

😂Look at that expression, you know that burger is good. 27:18 Wow you're down on the other end of Broad St. That used to be the old Essex House Club. The Terrace Ballroom, it's a shame the city has lost interest in the Symphony Hall, well NJPAC took over all the venues that use to play there. Years ago, there was Spanish rest. on the corner of Chestnut & Orchard St called Colon's they cooked delicious. There's so much history down in that part of Newark.

Yes, El Frank had Colons Restaurant,I lived 2 houses down the same side of the street. I miss my hood, had the chance to meet so many celebrities at Newark Symphony Hall.

30+ years ago I worked in that area we called that spot the Greasy 😂Spoon. Nice breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Liverwurst and onion 🌰 were delicious almost looks the same inside.

I used to go eat in that restaurant back in 1960!!!! Dam they made delicious hamburgers!!! I loved Newark back than. In camp street there were a lot of Puerto Ricans all those buildings were knocked down😢😢😢

I remember that area. Dr. Alexander & Dr Vannoy Pediatricians office right there. Seems like everyone born in late 60's to 70's was treated there. It was always standing room only. Moms line up around the block - in parking lots. Lol hahaha. I believe Jeno's Fried chicken was also in that area. Smile ☮️💟 He was a Black Dr. and Vannoy was Asian.
