16 oz ground beef
1 medium onion diced up
3 cloves minced garlic
1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
24oz jar spaghetti sauce
16oz spaghetti noodles
16oz whole milk cottage cheese OR whole milk ricotta
3 cups shredded mozzarella
1.5 cups parmesan cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
salt to taste.
pepper to taste
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
2. cook pasta 3 minutes less then package instructions. This will finish cooking while in the oven. drain, return pasta to pot and set aside
4 while pasta is cooking add ground beef and onions to fry pan until meat is done and onions are soft. Drain the grease and return to pan. Now go ahead and add the salt, pepper, garlic, and Italian seasonings. By adding these after you drain the grease ensures the seasonings stay with the meat and not removed during grease removal. Add pasta sauce to the ground meat, mix and set aside
5. add cottage cheese or ricotta, 1.5 cups mozzarella 1/2 of the parmesan cheese, heavy cream and some salt and pepper to the pasta, mix well
6. Spray a 9x13 baking dish add the spaghetti mixture then pour the ground beef mixture on top and top with remaining cheese's
7. cover with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the pasta is warmed and bubbly. Remove foil the last 10 minutes of baking. then place it under the broiler for 2-5 minutes or until cheese is browned and beautiful.
8. Let cool for 5-10 minutes. This allows it to cool enough so when you dish it out, it stays in a nice pretty square.
