I Could go on for hours. I went to Maine Road in the 70s with my mam, auntie and her friend in her brown Austin Allegro parking in Cyril Street. I sat on the old wooden seats of Platt Lane for a few years, inbetween becoming a Junior Blue, i knew then i loved City, then joining my 2 brothers in the Kippax in the 80s. Anyway, here I am now, 51 years old, still miss seeing the floodlights I could see driving home from work and all the odd stands of Maine Road. Nice one Ian and all the fans with their memories.

The electronic scoreboard was hilarious. It often jammed especially with long names, so it was either Wolves or nothing.

I was a steward at Maine rd for about 10 years. Worked in all 4 stands. By far the best was working at the bottom of the steps in the old Platt Lane. The old 2nd division. Had some great chats with away fans. Never once any trouble. Never heard a shit word spoken when it comes to away fans and Maine rd.

I remember going to the Bert Trautman testimonial and getting separated from my dad and sitting on a bench by the pitch for the 1st half with well over 60,000 spectators in attendance.

Beware that 'Logan' below Ian. Absolutely wonderful 💙 memories shared & remembered by yours truly... On this day of celebrating more recent triumphs it's a fitting tribute. Think I'll follow J.Lake on twitter. Next please..!

I don't suppose you have much recollection of the first game of the new millennium at Maine Road? (City vs Fulham Jan 2000, 4-0) I was mascot that day and have some memorabilia knocking about .

Thank you, Ian. I am a blue originally from Manchester, Now living in Portugal. Although I never had the chance to visit Maine road. My older brothers did. I'd like to thank you for the blog. These stories just confirm all the stories, I heard growing up. Your blogs have got me through the lockdown over here. (Although we are in our 2nd week out of it). Cheer CTID Owen.

There use to be a competition on the back of the programme where you had to get the correct scores at halftime home, draw or away, I got 8 out of the 9 right and won £13 .
