I've seen captive cubs taken from mom and they dont grow up healthy. The ones that are furtunate to have mom the entire time dont get sick nearly as much.

@Ike Dyson This project Running Wild Conservation, that houses my cheetahs, once had raised and released the Black Footed Cat. But that was long ago. No longer have them but they always get calls from some wildlife agency/land owner offering up some rescue to rehab or have. Recently they got a kitten African Wild Cat and not they will release it one day. Also, they found an abandoned Baboon baby, the troop rejected it twice... who knows why and he was rehabbed fore awhile and released to a baboon sanctuary that releases them.

I know! I learned they grow fast so they can avoid predation because when they reach 6mo of age they can outrun any predator that would kill them.

Do they tremble like housecats the first time they taste meat? I got to see that with with my new kitten, I wanted to cry it was so adorable! I kind of wish I could have the zebra skin but I know that's part of the fun for the kitties, enjoy your dinner! I once had a cat that would chase me around at dinner time in order to get me to grab her sides by the skin and slightly shake her while she made alien growly noises. She wouldn't eat until I did it, I don't know why but it was the weirdest thing a cat ever demanded of me. She was a feral siamese kitten if that matters. Thank you Dolph!

I'm glad you're introducing the Cubs to a lot of different varieties of wild game. Too often I've seen big cats getting used to eating chicken so much that they won't eat much else.

@@karinbriere8268 Most of it comes from purchases and it is VERY expensive. A zebra, one of the cheetahs favorite meals, costs $200 to $275 per animal. That lasts about a month for my 3 cheetahs. Other times we sanction a hunt by humans or cheetah (yes cheetah, where they hunt on their own on the game reserve next door for themselves and we bring it back). I hope to show a live hunt one day for everyone to see. Sometimes folks report to the project they discovered a dead animal on their game reserve from predation or something and they donate it. Ostridge, boar, eland, or any antelope but my older cheetahs don't like much of the wild game because they were not raised on it as cubs. I didn't own them when they were cubs and why I am making Kimi and Kayzer (the cubs) eating every kind of wild game we can find so they are used to it going forward and really working! As mentioned not for the squeamish. There is good nutrition in all the heads of the prey animals cheetah kill. They don't eat the heads in the wild, just the rump and limbs and body organs mostly. The head and tissue around the head is left for avengers mostly. But many local hunters lf game meat only want the body not the head so they often tossed out. Much of that is donated to places like this for the lions who spend hours cleaning it out but cheetahs do too so a good addition for them.

Some smaller wild cats can eat cat food as a support to wild meat but not as a staple diet. To many artificial ingredients and salts.

I saw a video on tiktok. Outrageous! People were filming a small cheetah whining and asking for help. His mother was nowhere to be found. Not a single person helped him!!!! Please tell me how I can help the cheetahs! I will volunteer if needed. It also annoys me when I see people filming, for example a lion killed two small cheetahs. Cheetah is my favorite animal. Very few live in the world. And people smuggle cheetahs in to sell them to the rich as ornamental animals, it's all annoying! I don't know English, unfortunately. I am writing from a translator, I am Hungarian. But I have a friend who knows English! I don't talk much!

@Novák Anikó no, you would not be allowed to spend nights with them except under safe and needed circumstances, like if they had cubs and they needed baby sat with a calm mom. In May there is an expected cheetah mother that looks pregnant. Tjr owner spends the time initially with them but sometimes needs help. No guarantee of that happening.

Not "live". I would only allow "live" eating if they hunt prey for themselves and kill it in a large game reserve where both predator and prey can have equal chance to live another day. When the cubs get bigger, we will allow live hunts to prepare them for a possible release. A large game reserve resides next door and live hunts are conducted for the cheetahs to train them. Now if you meant you were disturbed by the cubs eating meat from a carcass, then yeah not everyone is ready for that but meat is shown on almost every bilboard or commercial advertisment. They dont show where that meat comes from. I want my cheetah cubs learning what their prey looks and feels like when feeding them so they knownin the future if released.
