Dungeness crab is my absolute favorite. Just watching this video makes my mouth water 😋

Really enjoyed your instructional method! I watched several others and yours was definitely the most helpful!

I like the way you steamed your crab. It’s the perfect amount of crab steamed for one person. I prefer to use a small pair of scissors ✂️ to open the crab legs. Works great to keep the juice from spilling. There’s a lot of good flavor there.

I eat them two ways: hot out of the steamer with melted garlic butter, or cold in a salad with lettuce, sliced hard boiled eggs, croutons and three-cheese mexican blend. They don't need any spice.

Thing I never understand is when people are like let's use some ice to put them to sleep before we kill them. You realize how cold the water is from where they are caught ( deadliest catch breaking ice off a ship) it never made sense to me

Did you say you got crabs and you're going to cook them
@jamesmelanson79872 ай бұрын
And putting them in the ice will make them take longer to boil.

Just cut the garlic in half and drop it in. It gets so good I've had friends slapping each other's hands to get at the garlic!

It's not a head, it's a carapace

The carapace refers to the shell across the back. The head, which they have, is where the mouth and eyes rest.

Far far too much work for a tiny amount of meat. And way overpriced also. Hell no. Waste of time and money.

Dungeness crabs don't need any flavor the full of flavor once you start adding lemon and different things to it you destroy the flavor of the actual crab it's pretty gross I hate when people do that especially Old Bay that tastes like s*** steam it with regular water
@carlcalvin14798 ай бұрын
Do you dip it in butter. Or do you eat it plain. How about real crab California sushi. That has different flavors. Not to mention crab cakes. There are many ways to eat crab.
@outdoorloser43408 ай бұрын
Agreed 👍. Fresh dungeness crab doesn't need anything because it's God's perfect food. Save the spices for king crab/snow crab/ rock crab/blue crab etc.
@lelandcase71238 ай бұрын
I like the video and lesson, but agree with the others that Dungeness and snow crab taste best plain and only require plain steaming and nothing else. Season your potatoes or whatever side, but not the crab.

Hate when people do that even though you aren't eating it. God damn the pretentiousness. Let people eat things the way they want without manaplaining & delivering lectures. Damn.
