For people who are wondering the woman has a condition called Haemochromatosis which is excessive levels of iron in the blood. Raw seafood has a bacteria which thrives in a high iron environment of the blood and can be fatal to that person.

“I’ve hit all the points on their preference sheet..” dude you tried to feed raw fish to somebody who would literally die if they ate it.. all because you wanted to do it your way. Also the whole lime excuse he knew exactly what he was doing and just didn’t care. As someone with an anaphylactic allergy, if I paid thousands of dollars for a private charter and you tried to feed me something that would kill me, I would be asking for a refund.

Any body with knowledge of IRON OVERLOAD knows the guest was exaggerating the threat: it won't kill you but is a threat to good health. Regardless the chef should have been more aware of the guest's preferences.

Maybe the preference sheets could be better organized with DO’s and DONT’S so they can be understood in a glance instead of having to read through a paragraph of information for critical info. Also, a spreadsheet to summarize the preference sheets could be created and passed around. Pink sticky notes with reminders of allergies could be helpful also. Memories can fail, but good systems for sharing and reminding will help immensely.

Below Deck- it's a show that follows what happens on a Super Yacht where people rent them out for a charter (usually up to 5 or so days). This lady has Haemochromatosis which is where your body draws out more iron than it should, and also stores the excess iron instead of getting rid of it, which is fatal. You can also have one version of this gene, which is known as having a heterozygous compound gene, which can also be fatal if not checked
