i bought one recently. was so impressed with it i bought another one and stuck it on a shelf in case they decide to stop making these in the future. a great machine for busy people. i tend to always be working or on the go, and being able to load this up and then keep doing something else for 20 minutes while it cooks and tosses the food all on its own is just terrific.

This gadget can easily be dismissed as a gimmick until you determine what it does well and if those things it does do well are suitable for you. We have had our T-Fal Actifry for about 6 months now and use it several times a week for a variety of different entrees and side dishes. Yesterday for example, I made a batch of green beans, lightly oiled and seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic. They are delicious and will be used as a side vegetable for about 3-4 days. Today I am making a chicken dish similar to the one shown in this video. Tomorrow... home made fries to go with grilled chicken and nothing I have ever tasted compares with these fries. This device is without a doubt over hyped to the point where it has created false expectations but if you are going to listen to negative criticism, at least listen to someone who actually has one and has made an honest attempt to learn to cook with it. In our kitchen it is the perfect compliment to our electric wok, convection and steam toaster oven and George Foreman Grill. ...but we did our homework, learned a few recipes and kept our expectations in check as we constantly added new uses for it.

I went to the thrift store last week and they had one for 24.99 and the tag color was half off but i didn't get it. I went home and researched the gadget and went back to get it. It was even lower in price and i ended up paying 6 dollars. I can't wait to use it.

I'm doing this recipee right now. My tortillas are whole wheat...and I have chicken breast..red onion. I marinated the chicken. My actifry is black. Hope I'll like it! PS: I already devoured it! AMAZING! I cut the onion and pepper too thin, but they weren't burn, only they did not look as good. I used a whole avocado with a lot of lemon! Thank you!

Wow, I enjoyed this. Actifry seems to excel at quasi stir-fry. For folks who love sauce, this beats an air fryer!

I have a ninja air fryer that can bake, roast, steam, pressure cook, dehydrate, slow cook, keep warm, rewarm, sauté and air fry. No paddle and fish stays in one piece, actually everything stays the same way you placed it. I can make an entire meal for three or four atone times, I air fryer a 7:6 prime rib roast and it was the most delicious prime rib that I’ve ever eaten. I steamed to muffin tins full of egg bites that we used for two meals. I did a 6 lb pot roast. I can make soups, stews, desserts and homemade beans in one pot. No other pots are ever used. None. I have a basket with slots that circulates the hot air throughout the fryer and you don’t even have to turn the food. Maybe a little research could help, maybe not. if you’re happy then who am I to judge you. God Bless. Cheers

Fish might be a little difficult with the Acti-Fry. The machine has a rotating piece which stirs the ingredients constantly. Fish might fall apart in the Acti-Fry. Just tried the tortillas for Super Bowl Sunday and they were awesome! We cut them into bigger pieces and used salt. They were perfect with artichoke dip.
@steveturton54782 жыл бұрын
For delicate items, like fish, use the optional wire basket, which also rotates but does not use the paddle.

I'm interested in getting lots of nourishing animal fat, in my eating, so I wonder if I can use pig lard, instead of oil
@Godsavethecrumpets3 жыл бұрын
yes you can, they only say oil because its a fryer thats meant to replace a deep frier, but i use it all the time with no oil at all
@naturegirl3723 жыл бұрын
@@Godsavethecrumpets . Thanks. I did use it with lard and it was fine, but the machine itself, I wasn't impressed with. It's a big, cumbersome space robbing, redundancy. I gave it to my son to try. It doesn't do anything, that I can't get from my stove, for my purposes
@awendaawenda80113 жыл бұрын
I think you could cut down on the dirty dishes. All I use is a large cutting board and put everything in the pot as chopped and needed. So literally it’s a one pot cooker. I also use oil in a clean hair sprayer bottle (small one) or a smaller sprayer and spray the sides of the basket and I spray the tops of my food, flip it and spray the second spray and have never used a tbsp of oil, never mind two. TIP: when you ant fit everything in a pot, cook your fries and then dump them onto enough foil to completely encapsulate them. Make sure the foil is snug. The. I cover the fries, the foil with clean tea towels, like a gift. All sizes and the bottom and top. They’re still hot 20-25 minute later. Your artifry should be properly cleaned after ever single use or you’ll end up with an “old oil” smell in that filter and you’ll never clean it out. Cook with great food, choose an excellent moderately priced wine and always use clean pots, pans and air fryers. It’s all about hygiene and taste.

Buy right version , the one with auto shutdown/timer, when used right, its working fine, usally I use it most with pommes fries, havent testet it much, I usually boil and longfry in oven chicken Legs or pig. From my experience, I use it for vegetables and potatoes or for crispy things.. But its not the same as frying in oil, its different. Some like it, others dont. I think its good.

40 minutes for a stir fry?
@kvin92104 жыл бұрын
Think about the oil you're saving. An air fryer will always have more cooking time at the expense of time and the amount of oil.
@samuraistabber4 жыл бұрын
Gadgets are usually made to make things quick and easier. 40 minutes for a stir fry is not efficient no matter how much oil you save.

I am sure that will taste awesome, but it's actually quite oily. i guess the prime selling point is that you can set it up and walk away. no need for constant monitoring. However, realistically, you would need at least 2 of these units (if not 3) to be able to make a proper meal, unless you want to spend an hour- hour and a half cooking food one after another. in which case, why even bother buying this unit. You can just use your stove.
@redbuzzardbass11 жыл бұрын
with traditional methods this would take half the time and use less oil. the actifry seems to be awesome.

From outward appearances this device seems like a great innovation, but if you want to fry something like chicken wings or french fries, it will take 2-3x longer to do it with this device than with a regular deep fryer, which would only cost a fraction of the price. As for using less oil: Food fried at the correct temperature retains very little oil to begin with. Alton Brown did an episode of Good Eats where he disproved the whole "fried food absorbs tons of oil" myth. To test it, I put 2 litres of oil in my deep fryer, fried 30 chicken wings (in batches) for my family, than allowed the oil to cool down, and syphoned it back into the original oil container. About 2 tablespoons were missing for all the wings I cooked.
@steveturton54782 жыл бұрын
