I intended to start my studies in the Culinary Arts next year, I wrote the entrance test and was accepted. I decided to research on the salary after being accepted, and I was shocked. I am not pursuing my studies in the field anymore. Kuyabiza, and then you get paid *****, ngapha you have to deal with the pressure in the kitchen. Andizi.

Hhay bo 😩😩😩the salary yona ayenzi I sense shame I won't lie. So what are you going to do now?
@LuckyboyEdisonMkhondwane8 ай бұрын
@liferesetwithboni I thought it would be a good idea since this has been my passion, but I couldn't do it because abazali didn't believe it is a career, so I ended up in the NGO sector. Got retrenhed in Feb and I was like yesssss I can do this. So, since I can't, I have decided to open a coffee and ice cream spot, which has been operating since October. Funny thing I have friends in the industry, and not even one of them ever shared what they earn. They would always tell us ukuthi this industry is about passion. Jikijiki, they go and work in the USA, UAE, UK, Europe, and cruise ships, babaleka neqiniso 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Look for another career mntase. I'm a professional Chef, studied for 3 years at CPUT. You won't believe that I get paid R4000 a month, R25,50 per hour. It's insane. Going to America next year February, and when I come back, definitely starting my own shit. This industry is full of shit, the fees are insane and you get paid 🥜.

Thanks for the video - I strongly believe the biggest issue is that with Hospitality the Cost of acquiring that skill and certification is quite steep versus what you get back. However, if you really want to pursue a career in Hospitality, you should not let the money be the reason you don't. - I remember someone on youtube saying, "passion won't get you that nice car and fancy lifestyle". To that I respond it will get you fulfillment which is far greater because you'll have the drive to keep going instead of throwing those years away because you're doing something you don't really want to do, and if you're chasing the paper then look elsewhere. Try to navigate both your passion and the money to work together, like as you mentioned in the video - Work abroad, Cruise ships, Airlines and other industries that do need people with the skills you acquired in Hospitality that'll pay you more. *I'm not in the industry but I wanted to offer insight on the preparation that goes into any career path you decide to pursue.

Thank you. What I like about this career path is that it offers you a skill and skill that matters over everything, and it offers self-employment opportunities. It's funny cos I was browsing just now on Google Feed and an ad of an culinary school popped up and guess what was the tag line? Turn your passion into profits, it did not mention anything about the job. The words profits made me stop and click on the add. Most people get disappointed by the salaries because that's the only way they are looking at it. Thanks for your insight, we appreciate it.

@@liferesetwithbonithat line, "Turn your Passion into Profits".🤌 So true - as you say, there's so much you could do with those Skills no one can take them away either. Thank you so much for your videos, and the insight you provide for aspiring professionals. You are a gem, thank you❤❤
