Hi @Londi 33 is very young. I also have Btech Cost and Man Acc, I'm 37 currently completing Bridging to CTA, you can do it for 6months or a year *depends on the institution you register with*, there after do your one year of PGDA. Just focus on the rewards you will gain after, with the short time investment required for study. It's well worth it.

So relatable. 1) Unisa is challenging and not completing your degree in record time does not mean effort has not been applied but because some concepts require access to a lecturer which is where Unisa as an institution fails, student support is non- existent. 2) It's easier to reach your goals when you don't have any kids as a young women, I'm in the same boat and it's easier to take risks and set the long-term goals. 3) My 20s were also a mess (studied late and struggled to get a job) and I'm putting things in order in my 30s and working towards the masters and PHD. Thank you Sis Boni for the platform and thank you Mbali for availing yourself and sharing your story. I felt the spark of a star in my day today because of this interview and it has left me feeling a bit hopeful that things will work out in the end.

Hi Mbali. Could you share some light on how true is it that doing articles in TOPP restricts future career prospects and the level of growth one could expect being exposed to only one industry? Im not sure which route to take, as age is also a factor, im late 30's. Congratulations and thank you for talking about your Journey. Also did Diploma and Btech at Dut 2009. Currently doing BCTA.
@Mbalenhle_V22 сағат бұрын
Hi Sabelo , I wouldn’t say say it restricts it because you also learn and get exposure to alot through Topp . There are companies which are conglomerates trading in different industries which gives you exposure to different industries during your Topp articles . Some audit trainees also do get limited to one industry as they sometimes always auditing E.g mining industries. But I can’t speak much as well since I haven’t experienced life post articles . It also depends on what you want to do post articles , if you want to specialise in Audit then you’d have to go the TIPP route , if not then you maybe look into doing articles in the industry you’d like to grow into . I believe it’s how you use the designation to work in your favour .

Thank you. Your perspective has helped alot.

Took another year break and he decided to do CIMA to keep his mind busy and occupied, only for SIACA to allow qualified CIMA students to write APC and by God's grace he made it 🙏 his perseverance paid off.

@@Mbalenhle_V hey. I’m good - I just wished we could’ve had more time to expand on certain things (I think this is a video on its own) or even point people in the direction like: 1. Differences between Audit (TIPP) and industry (TOPP). 2. SAICA accredited degrees and how to transition from one. The fact that it’s not just with a diploma that you can do an Advanced diploma but that, even with a non-SAICA accredited degree you can still bridge the gap 3. What we mean by “not SAICA accredited” and the fact that we don’t mean that your qualification shouldn’t be recognized at SAQA (okay, I know I may be exaggerating here 😅,but…) 4. What we mean by articles. When one writes boards. What CTA means - as I know that not everyone watching has done an accounting degree. Oh, and thank you for availing the time and congratulations on your journey. 😊

Can I also ask how hard is the Adv dip in Acc Sci coz I’m doing a diploma in Acc Sci at Unisa, is the transition from diploma to advance a big jump and is advance to CTA also huge jump ?
@liferesetwithboniКүн бұрын
Hello, I got your points, but the video is more for someone who is currently on this route or thinking about it. It's not aimed at high scholars or someone who hasn't touched any of the accounting qualifications. So if someone doesn't know what is SAICA, oopsie 😄the video is not for you. Kusekude kakhulu for them. 😃
@Mbalenhle_VКүн бұрын
@@sugar4177it’s not a big jump as you’d already have accounting foundation at a university level , For the advance diploma I’d say they trying to bring you to the standard of a 3rd year Bcom student . So the level of examination is different abit because now you focusing more on accounting standards , tax leg , and audit but you get the hang of it as time goes . I found the jump to CTA abit difficult personally, as the level of examination was intense , you had to Pass everything in one sitting , I had never used the accounting standards that extensively before , so it was really abit of an adjustment . I think it would help if you’re doing it at Unisa to sign up for support classes as they’ll help you navigate the change quite quicker . All the best with your studies 😊.
