What a treat to listen to Brenda Davis, but the icing (vegan of course) on the cake is to meet and listen to Cory. Brenda should be so proud of Cory for everything he stands for. But he's is a reflection of Brenda. Job well done Brenda.

I started a wfpb diet last year for my health and I feel so good, lost a lot of weight and got off several medications, that I'll never go back. I track my nutrition on Cronometer and, even on Dr Goldner's raw healing protocol, I get plenty of protein and way more nutrition than before. The more I learn about the environmental impact as well as the health impact from the factory farmed meat and dairy industry the angrier I get. Thank you for bringing this to light!

What a special pleasure. I have to watch immediately any video where Brenda Davis speaks, and it was great to meet her son whom i recall having heard her mention once. An informative video too, as always. Yesterday's video was very enjoyable too, with Velanto Mesina, the co-author of the new book. A huge thanks to Chef AJ, a wonderful channel which I share and recommend often.

Loved this interview, Brenda is such a lovely, knowledgeable person and her son is following in her footsteps. It was so nice to see Cory after hearing Brenda speaking about him as a little boy. Much love from Spain ❤️

Adorable Mother & Son team!! How cool!! 🥰👏🏻👏🏻 The following timestamps do _not_ cover everything! I started taking notes for myself here then just decided to keep adding… 😆 15:45 *As you age into your later years, you need more protein to reduce muscle wasting and maintain bone.* For seniors, it’s 1-1.3 grams per kilogram. For those of us in the USA, 🇺🇸 I think this equates to about .6 grams per pound? 16:45 *Is plant protein as good as animal based protein?* For muscle growth, there’s no difference. Athletes recover faster!! 21:04 *Seniors & Oxolate Concerns in Plant-Based High Protein Foods.* _(My note: for kidney stones, the Chinese herb, Shilintong, works great!!)._ 27:29 *Non-Dairy Milk & Calcium.* _(My note: I strongly disagree with using fortified vegan milks. ONLY use non-fortified milks, as most have calcium carbonate, which is like cement for your arteries-you really have to be careful with supplementing calcium, and make sure you’re taking Vitamin K2-MK7 to keep it out of your arteries)._ 35:14 *Athletes and Protein Powders.* 43:16 *~30 Recipes* 🙌🏻 WOW!!! They made sure all their recipes got a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by professional recipe testers!!! Now THAT is taking pride in your work and having integrity! 44:50 *Too much protein?* 49:00 Oh no! I hate to hear that! I eat nuts daily-my salad dressing is made from walnuts for the omega 3s, and it’s soooo delicious too. 50:31 People who research health know that *farmed fish 🐟 is literally one of the most toxic things you can consume.* 51:27 *Are the recipes SOS free? Salt, oil, sugar.*

Thank you for addressing this issue on your show I wrote this comment before they spoke on the subject ………”For old people and athletes you’re steering them wrong should be around 1 g per pound The recommended daily allowance is for the total minimal amount. I know I’m a moderate athlete 63 years old vegan and was going downhill on a vegan diet for a year and a half until I figured out my protein intake with protein powders plant mixed you need to hit that leucine 2 grams and minimal 30 g protein each meal

@@Jeff, thank you!! Do you have a favorite plant based protein powder? What do you eat for high protein? I am wanting to build more muscle after losing strength last year after COVID, so this is of high interest to me!

That’s why I stopped doing the AIP diet cuz they encouraged the intake of so many animal proteins that I was getting worse than better so now thankfully I’m doing plant base instead and I already feel better. And I thank Chef AJ for her wonderful channel and all her fantastic guest who directed me in the right direction.

When I hear "Vegans don't get enough protein." I follow it up with: "Enough protein to do what, exactly?"

Protein to maintain muscle and bone loss, and like she said around the 15:45 minute mark, as you age, you need even more. 1-1.3 grams per kilogram. I think this equates to about .6 grams per pound?

@@PeaceIsYeshua I get enough to not only maintain but create muscle and bone as a vegan for 12 years. My daughter's been vegan since birth. All of her muscle and bones were created by a vegan diet. We both get enough protein as vegans to build and maintain muscle and bones. Muscle and bone loss in elderly people happens to everyone eventually, not just vegans. Just as many plants become brittle and fade away after their time to grow and bear seed has come and gone. That time will come for me eventually too, regardless of what I eat.
