How many pounds was the rotisserie chicken? I havent tried that yet; just got my Chefman air fryer. Great video and very helpful for giving me ideas of what to try next.
@LogansRun
@LogansRun 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure of it's approx. Weight, but I would assume it was around 4 lbs. but it was a bit larger than a typical young chicken you would purchase at the grocery store. It was tight. As you can see in the video. I recommend getting some baking string. So you can tie the legs and wings down to the bird. It was dragging at first. And the wing was getting caught on the side. 😂 But the string did the job and it came out delicious! Any bird about the size of a typical Rotisserie chicken will fit.

Have you tried cooking with two or three trays at once? I watched another video review and they had issues with wings cooking evenly and had to pull trays out, etc. Just wondering if you’ve had the same experience?
@LogansRun
@LogansRun Жыл бұрын
Good question. Honestly, I only tried that once. I noticed right off the back that it would only work like that if you cooked the items you want brown or crunchy on the top rack. Other items you just want heated slower would go on the bottom rack. Just remember, the most important thing to keep in mind. There is only one heating element. It's on the top. It's like an electric stove top burner.. That's all it really is, along with a fan that blows air around. It's practically a convection oven. So with that said, the items closest to that heating element will cook hotter and are more prone to browning. Conclusion: If you plan to cook multiple racks of wings, I suggest adding some time to the cook cycle and plan to rotate the racks every 10 minutes. I personally only use one rack. Always in center tray and it comes out great. I would rather wait and cook one tray at a time and have exceptional product rather than mediocre at best.

questions: does the outside of it get hot? has it messed up your counter that it sits on or any cabinets above it?
@LogansRun
@LogansRun Жыл бұрын
Answers: (1) the outside gets warm. It also pushes out hot air from the back. I don't recommend you place it next to any plastic or paper products. I leave 4 inches space around the unit. You can touch the side during it's process, but you wouldn't be able to keep your hand there for long. (2) It hasn't done anything to my counter top. It has legs, it sits about half an inch above the counter top, and the heat comes from above in the unit. It's heating element is at the top of the interior of the unit. Like a medium stove heating element. And a fan to push the heat around. Like a convection oven. I would apply all precautions you would with a traditional toster oven. Fallow those guidelines and you should be OK. Common sense. That's just my opinion. Do your own research. I'm not a professional. I just possess common sense. Take care...

How do you get it to turn? Mine just sits there. Am I suppose to press a certain button? My fries burnt and was stuck together from it not turning.
@LogansRun
@LogansRun 2 жыл бұрын
There is a rotate button in the top left corner. But honestly, i only use the rotate button to stop rotation when needed. It should rotate automatically.. Once on (fries mode) and (airfry) , it will rotate automatically. Only reasons I can see that it wouldn't are, (1) if the basket isn't inserted in the hole on the left of the oven properly, or (2) if the air fryer is broken. Problem solving: Take the basket out of the airfryer. And turn it on as if you had the basket in it. . Be sure you have it on (air fry) and on (fries mode) .. But honestly, I've even Rotisserie a chicken in chicken mode too. By hitting the button to rotate. Then close the door and press start. Turn on the light. *Top right corner of machine. Look inside the viewing window and see if the gear is turning on the left inside wall where you would insert the basket. It should be turning. If not, the unit is broken. Regardless how you do it. If rotate is on (what you want for fries), it will be lit up. I hope this helps. If it still doesn't work, return the machine. And get a new one. The basket will start to rotate immediately once on. It's slow but it turns as seen in the video.

You could take it apart. 6 screws on bottom will remove the shell just enough to get to the belt that turns the Rotisserie wheel. It's probably not connected. My screw fell out that connects the two. I had to do just that. Once you open it, it's tight with the wires, so don't pull to much. But it gives you just enough slack to screw in the screw to attach the wheel and the turning nut. Problem solved. I hope this helps. Be careful not to pull too hard on the wires connected at the bottom so it doesn't disconnect. And always do repairs with it unplugged. Put it back together with all screws in place before turning it back on. It should work.
@LogansRun
@LogansRun Жыл бұрын
Also, turn it upside down to remove the screws, (they are on the bottom...) leave it upside down until finished with the repair. (Remember to take out the drip tray and racks prior to repair) .....

Do you do anything for prepping the machine before the first real use?
@LogansRun
@LogansRun 6 ай бұрын
It's always a good idea to clean anything before using it. Then I ran it for 10 min. To burn anythjng off. Make sure you have the drip pan inserted. And that's it... I turn off rotation if using some of the air fryingrg settings. Rotate automatically comes on. Just push the button so it doesn't turn for no reason. That's it...

I don't know what to tell you. Why the question marks? Lol! I don't work for the company. I just made a review on the product. That's where it ends for me. Sounds like it failed on you. As many things do to all of us. It should have lasted longer than that, but just like cars and anything else. The transmission can go out right off the lot. Luck of the draw. Is it right? Not at all. But that's life. Mass produced products will always have flaws and rejects that somehow get to the customers. Poor quality control. One out of thousands... Sorry for your loss.

It should have.. did you by any chance get yours from amazon? They are hit or miss with actually sending everything you are supposed to get when ordering things. Thats lame.. but to be honest, i really don't use mine. I feel like the fryer does a better job at cooking fries and tots on the mesh grates than using the basket.

Do you cook steaks and burgers in it?
@LogansRun
@LogansRun 11 ай бұрын
No. I usually like to cook those items in the oven or pan just because I can cook it slower and am use to it. I mostly use this for frozen food, or fish, whole chicken because of the rotisserie.. But I still love to cook, so this will never replace that. But it's great for reheating and keeping things crunchy. I'm sure it would work out fine with those items though. But risky if you don't know what setting and all. Beef is expensive to experiment with.

Where is the on and off button??
@LogansRun
@LogansRun Жыл бұрын
There isn't an on off button as far as I know. I typically plug it in when I plan to use it, and unplug when finished. I hook mine up to a power strip and use the power strip on/off toggle when I want to use it. It's convenient and safe. I did notice that if you long press the temp button, it'll toggle between °F °C. Honestly though, I don't ever condone leaving appliances plugged In unless in use and supervised.

@LogansRun
@LogansRun Жыл бұрын
@@Bob-xz1bx unplug it. You should connect it to a power strip and toggle on off with that. It's safe and convenient. The device does not have an on/off switch. As most appliances, it's not a good idea to keep anything plugged in when not in use. Not only does it waste power when all appliances are plugged in on "stand by". It's also a fire hazard.
