1. Invest in a good airfryer 2. Do not overcrowd your basket. Best to fill it half. Choose square aifryers or bigger ones. 3. Use oil. The amount and type of oil depends on the food you're cooking. 2:48 Know how and what oil to use. 3:57 4. Rotate or shake your food halfway through. 5. Check the food temperature for best results. 6. Make sure the airfryer is getting enough air/circulation. Keep 5 inches away from the wall when using. Make sure it's elevated from the countertop. 7. Cook fatty foods without oil, put a little bit of water when cooking fatty foods. 8. Always CLEAN after using. How to clean- 7:07 9. You cannot fry wet foods, or foods with wet batter. @@empoweredcooks hello there thank you for all the info. I had one question honestly are air fryers suppose to throw white smoke. I ask because I have a good air fryer a Phillips one and it wasn’t cheap but it throws white smoke every time I use it and lots of it. For wings or or anything I put it in.
@empoweredcooks3 жыл бұрын
@@realvaquero1682 great question... it seems to be the curse of the Philips mingled with fatty food! My philips does the same thing, while my Cosori doesn't. I started putting bread underneath the basket (like in between the pan and the basket) and it helps absorb the grease and minimizes smoke. However, if it's doing white smoke for non greasy/fatty foods, then it could be due to residue in the air fryer from old food? Not sure how often you clean your air fryer, but it might be worth checking the burner. Here are some tips on cleaning your air fryer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpbCaqSue7x8Z5o

Great video. I just got my instant vortex air fryer today from Amazon. I found out from one instructional video that when you first get your air fryer, you will need to clean out the factory chemicals by putting it on approximately 400° for about 25 minutes. This is great for getting all of the factory smells out. Since I have never used an air fryer before, this is a great video to get started with. Tonight I have a couple of frozen vegetable burgers that I will be putting in the air fryer and hopefully experimenting to find out what the best temperature is to cook them on without burning them up. I don’t mind a little bit crispy, but I have no teeth and use dentures. I like food well done, but not so crispy that you have to cut it with a very sharp steak knife. Thanks again for an awesome video and I will be cooking for vegetarian corn dogs from MorningStar. I am curious to find out how they taste in the air fryer. I am as hungry as a horse tonight. I am even more hungry now than before because I saw some great recipes on here with an air fryer. I’m getting started, so great video and keep the videos coming.

Yes! Crucial Point Echoed: Use an oil spritzer, NOT spray can oils from the store. Adding your own oil to an oil spritzer will not degrade the coating, which is the #1 complaint of dissatisfied customers. (I read a ton of reviews over a year’s time to really figure out which one I really wanted.) One reviewer worked in chemical manufacturing and knew the chemicals added to the spray can oils. He said it causes the coating on the air fryers to disintegrate. He showed the air fryer he had for two years and there were no chips or peels. I don’t know why the companies do not print this in all caps or have it in their instruction manuals (they have probably determined that the majority will purchase parts or a new air fryer after learning this rather than give up on air fryers. Grr.), but they should. This lady really knows her stuff! The Oil Smoke Points is the other piece of knowledge that anyone cooking at all really needs to know. Different oils smoke at different temperatures. If you cook at a temperature higher than an oil’s smoke point: -you will lose any nutrients you wanted from the oil (ex. Extra Virgin Olive Oil smokes at Medium, around or just above 350. For this reason, I roast my veggies longer, at 325.). -you may end up with scorched food, pans, or fire. Oils with a high smoke point that can be used to cook on High include: Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil (which are imo healthy options), Peanut, Canola.

I am really impressed with your prowess and knowledge of the air fryer. Mine is similar to the budget one you like, a 4.2 Quart, square not round. You are awesome and so practically helpful. Air Fryers are awesome, but it helps so much to have someone demonstrating and explaining. Keep up the fabulous work! (P.S. I just divided a tropical cake recipe in half and cooked half in teh oven and half in the air fryer, in small rectangle pyrex, around 5x7". The one in the air fryer had that melty buttery crisp golden edge and was finely textured, as if from a fine bakery. The oven one came out denser. My sister liked the air fryer cake better.)

@@pharaohsmagician8329 I wish I got a smaller one. I think a 4 quarts one would be enough for me honestly. They don't tell you that but it actually takes some time to heat up. The manual says 3 minutes but it's more like 5-6 minutes before it comes up to full temp (200C). I made few batches of fries and they always turned out amazing. I've tried some chicken wings and it worked great. I'm still in the process of testing different recipes but so far so good. I tend to set the temperature 20 degrees lower than the recipe calls and add a few minutes to the baking time and that really improved the performance. Things don't burn so easily and actually have time to bake rather than just get charred on the outside. It takes some practice at first.

After reading the reviews of some popular air fryers I noticed that many of them don't use proper stainless steal baskets and trays they seem to be lighter metals coated.. some reviews have reported rusting after a few months of use because they left the basket and trays to soak in water overnight. A top tip is not using abrasive cleaning and getting these washed and dried as soon as possible and not leaving sitting in water.

When my son bought an inexpensive air fryer with just two knobs, one for heat control and one that was an old fashioned mechanical timer I was skeptical. It is easy to clean (not that he ever does) and has performed well beyond my expectations. It isn't perfect for everything but it is worth it just for warming up three day old pizza slices. The brand name of it is Bella. I have no idea if this is the best one for the money, I just know that we have been satisfied with it. I am sure there are better ones available at a reasonable cost so go do your own research.

Thank you for the great tips on ways to avoid the pitfalls of using a new air fryer. I bought a Black & Decker Convection/Air Fryer that has the look of a toaster oven and I have fears about using it. There are 2 sets of heating elements one set each at the top and bottom. The grease that comes from whatever I cook seems to rest on the elements and cause more smoking and usually sets off the smoke alarm. I try to clean these elements as soon as possible once they cool off, but it's hard to get it all off. Like it burns onto the elements instantly. Any suggestions?

I found some pretty handy tricks when it comes to airfryers if no one else has tried these yet. + You can control a bit how dry or moist you want your food to be just by pouring a little bit of water at the bottom of the containment. so if you want softer fries or bakes, this does the trick. NO oil necessary. + Just use a preferably heat resistant plate, in the containment as this will really reduce the frequency you need to clean the containment, my particular air fryer allows me to remove the whole thing for a quick wash, but this also helps a lot. + can also use a foil at the bottom of the containment for grilling, unlike microwaves where it would spark, and also easier to just swap out than having to clean the containment.
