Silly season is here already! Honestly, there's a bigger chance of The Irish Guy being named the new Chelsea manager, than it being Thomas Frank who's revealed as the next manager there! I mean, why would he even want to? At Brentford, he's allowed more or less total control over the team and if Toney gets sold for a bundle this summer, he'll finally try what's it's like to have a large transfer budget at his disposal. At Chelsea, it clearly doesn't matter if you're a success or not, you're still getting fired the second that their fan base turns against you. Even if it's a high paying job to be manager at Chelsea, it won't be easy to attract a top manager this summer for them, now where everyone knows that those are the working conditions there, and they'll probably have to settle for a choice that's far down their wish list. The only logical choice that I can think of is Allegri, if he's decided that he wants to try managing in a different league, now that he's gotten sacked at Juventus.

The top English clubs are much much more conservative in managerial choices than top clubs elsewhere - Even Real Madrid gave both Solari and Zidane the job simply after doing well with their B team in the lower leagues. This is why English managers do not get a chance with the big clubs.......Any English, British or even Irish manager taking the Chelsea job is just asking for trouble, the Chelsea job is a poisoned chalice! For most of the season, I thought Poch wasn’t the right man for Chelsea. I don’t support them, but I could see from a mile away how him being a previous Spurs manager would go, especially after Rafa. And with how inconsistent they were for the first 2/3 of the season, I thought they’d have to sack him just to have a chance to scrape 7th. But I was wrong. He coached players well, got the best out of Cole Parker and Connor Gallagher, and they managed to get Europa league football, winning the last 5 games I believe. For the first time under new ownership, it looked like They were clicking, and going in a good direction. But now, all of that progress seems gone. Whether he walked or was sacked, letting Poch go was a big mistake. If I had to guess, he’ll end up as either Bayern Manager, or maybe even Barcelona down the line, and do well. As for Chelsea, unless they get the perfect fit, I doubt they’ll finish higher than 6th again next season. Oh boy Todd, what have you done?

Firstly, although there were a lot of Chelsea fans calling for him to be sacked right away, most of them (myself included) were patient with him. The only time I ever wanted him sacked was an overreaction after that 5-0 loss to Arsenal. Secondly, I know social media has taken over the game but as a manager of course you are going to have fans calling for you to be sacked when they expect better results. We were 10th for most of the season which isn’t good enough. As a manager though, you have to block out the noise. Any fans that are used to winning year after year are going to be frustrated when their team isn’t winning games, no matter the club. You really think Jose would have been that affected by fans saying he should be sacked on social media? Thirdly, this is the owners being stupid again and again and again. If there’s anyone who needs to leave the club, it’s them. Now our academy players like Gallagher, Chalobah and Maatsen who have all been incredible this season are going to be sold. The owners got us into this mess by spending 1 billion over 3 windows. They should just sell the club

Tbh I don’t think the boards decision has anything to do with the fans! They couldn’t care less what the fans think or want as shown when they sacked tuchel just a handful of games in when the fans loved him. Given poch was only given a 2 year deal I don’t think they ever saw him as a long term solution and it seems as though him leaving now is down to the fact the club don’t want him involved in transfers and want to sell players he saw as key members of his squad. I personally agree he did enough to warrant another year at the club and I wanted him to stay.
