Brighton have been playing the same way all season. They just got found out vs Chelsea because Maresca prepared those boys so well they made Brighton look stupid. I have told you all long ago, that Maresca would brought Pep’s tactics into Chelsea. And I told you that Chelsea would become so good once they start to sign silky/tekky/skill moves capable/tiki taka capable players that fit into that Pep’s system, the most complex tactical system in football history. I told you that Palmer is a world class player years ago, when he was in the Man City u23, way before he has got his debut.

Some of these points are genuinely laughable. Hurzuler has played the exact same way since week 1, he's played a low block against every team he's come up against, including Villa, Arsenal and Man United, if you say he didn't, then that's just disingenuous towards Chelsea. They were just the only team that could take advantage of the high line. If you check the stats, the average position for Brighton in every game so far this season is almost identical. Secondly, Maresca hasn't "abandoned his philosophies" after the City game, he's just adapted to how the teams have set up against him and switched up his tactics to counter that. Lastly, Chelsea were clear and away the better performing team in the City game. Better possession, more shots, shots on target, higher xG, they just weren't as clinical and, on another day, would have gotten two penalties.

As a chelsea fan. I really want to see low blocks against us this year. We have a better squad to deal with it now that we have sanchez, felix and nkunku. We have tekkers now and it will only take for us to break down a low block and score once or twice to open up the game, then we strike with more goals when our opponents ditch their plan. Our attack is unreal from the pitch to the bench

To play high line you need to have pressure on the ball from your midfielders and attackers, as well as defenders with good recovery pace.

Look it's too early to say we're the sort of team to get this hype and then lose or draw our next game and people back to hating but it's stupid how people are calling every team we beat defensively awful if we keep improving liverpool are in for a real suprise but I still don't think we are capable of beating Liverpool.
