A lot of hopium in this stream. I am a Chelsea fan and I am concerned about finances because, next season, if we don't qualify to UCL, we won't have Gallaghers, Hutchinsons and Maatsens to sell. We already sold the hotels and the training ground. Isn't it effectively an all in from Winstanley and Stewart, because if new manager fails to qualify, dem tranche payments for Mudryk, Enzo, Caicedo and Estevvao need to be sourced from where? Yeah fine we got a low payroll, but low payroll is a ticking time bomb in the future if success doesn't come quickly. Imagine it goes south and 100 mil offer for Palmer comes from big club with trophy potential and UCL - I am not sure it is declinable amidst absence of any capital assets to sell, all the decent Cobham grads have already been sold and no UCL skrillah. Then it can get tricky, very tricky, because that low payroll may become more of a curse than a blessing, cuz Palmer definitely will be interested in leaving, you can't argue with that. If Palmer or any other player of significance leaves, all the hell may break loose because this WHOLE project will come under question.

My only questions are - could it have been a mistake to sack Poch when he was finally getting something right (questionable by Chelsea fans) and could've turned it into something better next season, especially if he had players' backing (again, debatable), but now that they're getting someone new, the dynamic changes, the coaching staff changes and they need to build new relationships and trust, what if everything goes belly up six months in? Do they stick with the young team and new manager, or do they switch back to the original model of older players and a win-now manager? Maybe Poch would've done better if they put a solid buffer between him and Boehly, let someone else give press conferences, and put some structures in place to keep more consistency in team structure. If nothing else, being an Arsenal fan and 34 teaches patience 😂
