This is all just my opinion. I was never a really huge fan of Alex's vocals. Tom is a great replacement and I'm stoked to see where they go. I think he's going to bring them to new heights and keep the heaviness going. I get that they're had some of the biggest albums in deathcore but I really think this is going to be my favorite from them. This songs is definitely my favorite they're ever released.

Naw, the last Chelsea Grin album was pretty iffy. Alex’s vocals went from being decent to pretty awful. Plus, I really liked Ashes to Ashes. Lorna Shore’s vocals were always a thousand times better and this is what they honestly needed.

I don't think Chelsea Grin has put out strong material since My Damnation. I tried really hard to dig their subsequent albums, because I'm a Utah native and I gotta support my Utah brethren in CG, but they just sucked more and more as the years passed. They sound great now, really taking it back to their straight Deathcore roots. Tom Barber is fucking beast too so I imagine he will bring some of that dirty Lorna Shore influence and give us the Chelsea Grin we've been waiting so many years for.

Cannot believe I went through high school playing shows with Tom when he was in Lorna and he's now fronting one of the biggest bands in the scene. Absolutely surreal but I've always said that he was one of the best vocalists I've ever heard live and in the studio so I can assure any skeptics that he is going to absolutely slay this new album. I am honest when I say I will definitely miss Alex on vocals. I was in love with his sound. No one else sounds like he does. I was looking forward to seeing where he was going to take the direction of the band's sound next album. Not saying that this new sound is any worse or any better; what it is is different. It's almost like when a favorite online game goes through some huge patches over years of playing it and is vastly different from when you first started. Some new things you love, some you hate. But there will always be that memory of what it was like at first, or at differing parts of it's life span. Same thing with this band. I'm glad to have all the different sounding albums from Alex's time, even though some people say some of them suck. I thought they were all great in their own ways. But yeah, that's a small part of my thoughts right now. Good luck to all members who are gone and to present ones. One of my favorite bands of all times, in all of it's different lineups!

Roaming around Chelsea Grin's tunes and this is certainly a song that sounds unlike them at any stage. Desolation of Eden, My Damnation, Crewcabanger, the original Recreant - that band is gone and we now have something that doesn't hold true to the name.

Yop, sure he does not get high as Alex's voices can, but he's definitly a better vocalist than him (in terms of duration, breathing, live presence and quality) I've seen them both, twice, when they were in Chelsea Grin and Lorna Shore. As much as I love Tom and Alex, Tom is still better than Alex for Chelsea Grin. Some may not like the new CG, some may like. That's my opinion, after all !
