No. Getting business done against the big six sides is THE title defining win. We've only won against Spurs this season (of course) while drawn against Arsenal and United and also lost the games against Liverpool and City as well. We needed to take care of business against those sides instead of relying on others to drop points. Relying on other team's results is a big sign that a team isn't a legit title contenders. definitely more of a feeling of relief than joy from that one. well done to the boys for grinding it out but we got lucky with that crossbar and I think we should have seen some 65 minutes subs not 85 minute subs. My only Maresca complaint comes out again, 10/15 minutes late with substitutions. Would like to see a different lineup for games like this where the opponent is going to low block, really needed a bit of Nkunku/Felix/Neto magic ( I know 2 of those were unavailable) and we probably would have won 3 or 4-1 instead of 30 minute squeaky bum time. Cucu and Caicedo were great and most of the rest had a good 65 minutes

Madueke repeatedly fails to use space well in the final 3rd. He becomes preoccupied with watching teammates' movements and defenders' movements, then fails to see the space open. Also: poor shots. I think his thought process is all wrong. 1. use the space, 2. look for a run and passing lane or a shot. He needs to simplify his thought process and act; it is far too complicated in his head. You see it repeatedly with Madueke. Can that be fixed? I don't think our wingers are at the level we need to win trophies. Palmer makes a better right winger than any. Neto will adapt and be useful, I think. I sense that Mudryk is not a lost cause but maybe he clashes culturally. Sancho and Madueke look like their ceiling has already been shown and it just isn't enough. The other question for wingers is Maresca's tactics against low blocks because we could end up looking like the worst iteration of Pep's side with wingers that dribble and pass unproductively every time. We need a scoring centre forward who shoots on-target stone cold, never bothered by anything.

Maresca is not human seriously. He knew we would have issues breaking down the well structured and disciplined Brentford players, so he instructed our wide players to do more of crosses into the box, this is the first game since the beginning of the season we have a tally of over 20 crosses in the stats. Maresca knew his players aren't excellent with aerial balls, however he knew luck can sometimes be on your side. That luck shone on cucu today and he scored his first ever Chelsea goal..can you imagine...a header goal..from cucu...sheer luck... nonetheless a well thought out plan by maresca. To further cement the fact that it was a game plan, when Chelsea come out for 2nd half the crosses ceased and they were looking for alternative ways to find the back of the net. Because maresca knew crossing balls to shorter and less aggressive Chelsea players means we give up possession more than necessary, and this could lead to an opponent scoring us, he decided its best we play the ball the way he loves and perhaps worse case scenario would be a lone goal at the blast of the final whistle. This man Maresca needs to organise a tutorial class for Guardiola seriously...he's now that good and flexible. Man is a genius
