He played for Dundee for a spell and he was amazing. Wish we had his calibre as a player now. One journalist wrote "When Cooke gets the ball, then things start cooking".

What a great guy Charlie Cooke was and is. And what a great story teller!!I was at Old Trafford that night and it's something I will never forget! Shouted and screamed ourselves hoarse, partied a bit and then drove back to London overnight and went strait to work feeling a lttle bleary eyed but absolutely euphoric!

My dad played alongside him at Aberdeen, and I remember him saying Charlie loved his football, and was going to be one of the greats ever to come out of Scotland. At club level definitely. Shame he didn’t at international level.

Jack Mortlock You want us to pay £78mil for one player with FFP around while we're only loaning out players? Not happening. But Stones deal is on after his transfer request

we can only dream. it's not gonna happen it's to much money we will sign stones tho

+Jack Mortlock What does Pogba bring that we need? He's so overrated, just all media and agent and manager hyping about how a young player who's fairly good managed to join a club for free. No way he is worth over £20m. Willian is an AM/WM and tracks back better, Fabregas is also a DLP and attacks 10x better. Oscar is a young mid who's better than Pogba in attack and possession play and has bags more potential considering he is the same age and has a better surrounding cast in the national team and club team.

Charlie Cooke was a dazzlingly brilliant player, I was lucky that my dad took me to Stamford Bridge at that time.

Saw him a few times when my team[ Nottm Forest] played them and for Scotland ,when he was at it he was a treat to watch with mazy runs beating 2or 3 men before firing in crosses ,a real entertainer ,but his dribbling ability set him apart ,even when he was doing it to my team I had to smile ,that Chelsea team were easy on the eye ,Osgood ,Hollins ,Bonetti, Baldwin, McCreadie etc ,wish there was more footage of Charlie though .

A fabulous player. That and he was Scottish! We could do with players of his calibre now in a Scotland jersey.

Charlie was a mesmeric ball player, a true great. A very humble and modest bloke for all his skill and talent.

I remember Cooke playing for Dundee against Rangers at Ibrox during the late 1960's. He was deliberately targeted by the opposition and they succeeded in getting Charlie sent off. That's how much he was feared. How I wish we still had such talent. Just an amazing Player.

Is anyone here old enough (like me!) To remember the "E for b and Charlie Cooke" song? So glad to see Charlie still going strong. One of the things I loved about Charlie was that with most tricky wingers, if you kicked them early on they'd disappear from the game. If you kicked Charlie you'd get it back twice as hard!

Charlie was small in stature but gave everything he had. Fabulous winger and a joy to watch on a truly great team of characters in the late 60’s and early 70’s. When Charlie got the ball a buzz went up around the ground........
