I agree to a large extent on the perspective about the LHS in terms of buying cheap players but especially in places with platforms to work with (especially in this current financial climate where we’ve spent this much this fast and we don’t know what potential implications could follow) we kinda have to try our best to use a platform to raise the floor of that position quickly. You can like cucurella (and I do too) but facts are facts he’s one of the most limited players in world football so getting someone to “challenge him” is a bit ludacris as if we are going to be able to squeeze more juice from the lemon. On the other hand he is somewhat reliable so that should give us the go ahead to try and make a riskier transfer. However since the floor is so low on the left wing this is a place where experimentation can occur

You still didnt get it? The problem with signings aint the transfer fees. Its only about the wages. CFC is a Clearlake Capital asset. They trim the club to be more cost efficient. The total cost of ownership has to go down. You cant grow valuation for the club just by raising revenue/cashflow. At least not within 10yrs. The club needs to reach a valuation of approx 7bil($9bil) in order to provide a decent/good ROI(return of invest). Your starting line is 2bil. Why do you think its Project 2030? In 2030 we enter the final 2yrs untill the owners could take dividens, loans on the club or sell it. Most of the young talents/wonderkids should enter their "prime". Increasing their transfervalues 2, 3 or even 4 times. So the value of the squad in generell will go up. Hopefuly they win major Trophies now. Because these will boost the valuation drasticly one or two years before they could sell the club. Thats the gamble they take. Getting "peak performance" from their investment(Players) close to the point when they start to "explore" the market. To cash in on their asset.

Chelsea are in a rebuilding phase that's focused on the medium to long term by signing a lot of young talented players. If you look at players like gusto who was a success last season and more recently signings like estevao and paez that will be coming in 2025 they have the ability to become world class players in 3-4 years while being in their early twenties. Those that don't end up breaking through can still be sold to recoup or even profit from the money spent on them. A recent example of this would be Omari Hutchinson. On paper this will allow Chelsea to sustainably build a team that would be capable of competing for many years.

That's one of the core objectives he outlined. I do agree with you that they are intending to create a constant supply talent and I personally think they should at some level since footballers can't play forever and it adds a layer of competitiveness. You're likely also to agree with this which is why the key difference in interpretation between us might be the timeline in which the core lasts. From what I gather I'd assume that based on your interpretation Chelsea will likely sell Palmer a top talent in 1-2 years. This means that on average players bought are sold after 2-3 years in order to accommodate for the next batch of talent that comes through. This method definitely destabilises the core of the team which is what we see in the feeder clubs. My interpretation is that the players will most likely be sold in 5-6 years. This allows for continuity needed to win trophies, refreshes the core without destabilising it and allows the club to sell players at a good price. As an example. Someone like gusto in 6 years would be 27 and would go for triple the amount bought for him.
