Going after young players is not only fine: it's desirable and essential to reestablishing ourselves as an elite club in the long run. Trevor Chalobah stay at Chelsea campaign I do not wish to hear any more " Chelsea is going to try and sell Trev in the summer again". Trev is one of our best central defenders, he is fast, strong, durable and is a cobham boy. He also fits Marescas system. He also boosts squad morale and fan support. Happy for Veiga getting regular playing time. But Chalobah was promised more, regular time. So opportune for both. Same possibly with Lavia/Coldwill, a trifecta for Chalobah. Honestly think Garnacho isn't the best move. Like George says we have so many wingers plus estevao and Paez coming in it would be so oversaturated, we need a new keeper but no one will let a world class keeper go in January same as striker. IMO keep Sancho for the left wing and alternate between noni, neto and George or consider playing a formation to let Felix get some game time with Cole as 2 number 10's. Striker wise maybe try and get Osihmen or someone, ideally as a perm but even a loan till the end of the season would be viable.

The midfield needs backing, and YES, we need someone the manager trusts to take minutes off Palmer and give him rest. That player does not seem to be Felix, who DOES tend to lose the ball in dangerous areas that lead to transitions. This is a cardinal sin for coaches like Maresca and Pep. Nkunku can’t play that role either. I was surprised Carney wasn’t tried there. Right now it looks like the manager doesn’t trust the team not to fall apart if Palmer and Caicedo aren’t t on the pitch. And he may not be wrong. But that needs addressing, or we will ruin them. One of the reasons for our strategy was t just to make profit; by buying appreciating assets on lower wages it is supposed to give you the ability to move bad fits on fir profit if little loss until you have a roster full of people you are happy with.
