Yes,i was there and in the boro end,firstly going to the game all the chelsea fans legged it when we went to get off the coach,then at the end they come running over as we were locked in and started throwing things and the stewards wouldn open the gates so were penned in then to our section came some bloke with a bubble perm so 2 lads jumped over and beat the crap outta him,yeh chelsea great at scrappin when the other team cant get to em!!!

I was at this game, God knows why, as an Oldham Athletic supporter living in London at the time. The Chelsea fans rioted at the end of the game, I was hoping to see something really spectacular, but it just sorta fizzled out....

Relegation that year was particularly cruel on Chelsea as in any other season they would have stayed up as they finished 4th from bottom, but the play offs in 1986-87 and 1987-88 included a team from the first division above the relegation positions.

I was at that game & believe me it was a miracle that any Boro fans managed to get out of the ground in one piece...still justice was done the following season Chelsea Champions of the old second Div.... Boro relegated from the first we then beat Boro at that Mickey Mouse cup final at Wembley in 89 the FA Cup Final in 97...League Cup Final 98 TOP RESULT!! five nil today in the Prem,C'mon you Blues.
