Banter is brilliant. But where does banter end and personal aggression start? Occasionally, a sledge might be funny but, all too often, it is intended to intimidate or upset the mindset of the player. Why? Players who sledge are just cowards. I played rugby for many years and if you want to sledge someone, you said it face to face - and took the consequences later in the match when the other bloke caught you.
