We learned how on our own never needing help from you. Reaching out with eyes closed, we felt the light. It taught us to grow. Hold, hold, hold on. Hold, hold, hold on. Creatures of habit, carrion flowers, growing from repeated crimes. The afterglow in full bloom slow and relentless, we're after you. Hold on to the pain of love taken from you. A plague. Hold, hold, hold on. Hold, hold, hold on.

Try not analyse the song. Just listen to it the way it is and if a chord strikes you or a rhythm then you may catch on to its meaning. That's why I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2001 times. Just to understand the story.

Okay so was listening to Converge and Chelsea's collab Blood Moon, and thought I had once heard she's also a Sac area native so looked it up and not only confirmed, but saw that Abyss and Hiss Spun were partially inspired by sleep paralysis and sleep studies she had as a child. Well now I really have to dive into both of these albums since I've also had sleep paralysis and night terror issues since childhood. Kaiser wanted me to come in to their sleep study labs but I waffled and never went. I've had some crazy experiences so I'm either going to love them or get freaked out. Lol!
