It's hard to explain how strong are the effects of these songs on me. Few things can cause me so much joy and melancholy at the same time.

dude they are so all around completely awesome. i mean as a vocalist she's wild and with simple melodies and chords they manage to build the most interesting songs with subtlety and nuance. all her albums build such an awesome ambiance when you let 'em play through. my favorite was the acoustic album and this one though.

Sounds like a reference to Solomon Ecclesiastes 1:15 (KJV) "That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered." as in a crooked environment the crooked looks straight but not according to God (neither objectivity) and that which is negative cannot be counted as positive thought the society might claim it so.

Does anyone else think that Pale on Pale sounds like the kind of song that would be in a movie during a scene where a character is high on peyote and watching someone's body get buried in the desert, then they start to have self-analytical hallucinations about how they've come to be in that scenario? And to top it off, the scene is black and white. Maybe it's just me?

I also figured out while messing around with my multieffects processor is that if you turn the sustain way up on a compressor it'll feedback with little effort. Funnily, I don't think people really appreciate all the effort that goes into making "noise" like the feed back effect we are talking about, haha :P
