Toh exceptions chhor de ? Bass ye yaad rkhna hoga ki beriiliyim oxalate and flourate zyada soluble hoga hoga sbse 😁

02:58 Fajan's rule explains the polarization and distortion of electron cloud in ionic compounds. 05:56 Fajan's rule states that a small cation, bigger anion, and high charge on cation or anion form a better covalent bond. 08:54 Size and charge determine polarizing power and polarizability. 11:52 Cations with higher polarizing power have more covalent character 14:50 Fajan's rule application in solubility and melting point 17:48 Melting point is directly proportional to ionic character and inversely proportional to covalent character. 20:46 Exceptions in Solubility 23:44 Exceptions of solubility for carbonates of alkali metals and alkaline earth metal fluorides and oxalates.

In terms of ranking them, cations have higher polarizing power when they have higher charges (Al3+ has a higher polarizing power than Be2+, which is higher than Li+) and when they are smaller, so polarizing power for cations increases across a period and decreases down a group.

23:10 For the fluride and oxalet of alkaline metal You told same explanation but actually For fluride polarization and lattice energy both following same trend except Be. Be neither following lattice nor polarization, its just excepttion.but mg to sr following lattice and polarization both. For oxalet polarization dominate for all except Be. Only Be is following latice .Be (gareeb) co³- (ameer) weak bond ,more soluble. I learnt it from your lecture. If I wrong plz rectify me

Sir last mein in exception of carbonates...there u said H.E dominates L.E...but Li has more Hydration than Cs...then sir how come Li2CO3
@the_sapient3 жыл бұрын
who told u that Li has more hydration than Cs. Cs has large size than Li so its hydrated radii or hydration is more than Li.
@dhimanr.kashyap58453 жыл бұрын
@@the_sapient Li is smaller therefore more H2O will surround which will make it hard to remove the hydrogens....hence Li will have more hydration energy

@@dhimanr.kashyap5845 wait.... I am sorry. I was telling in isolated gaseous form not in aqueous form..... my bad.
@neetaspirant57472 жыл бұрын
@@dhimanr.kashyap5845 if i am not wrong Hydrated radii is more for Li+ than Cs+... Li+ and Cs+ are already seperated ions in their aq form... But in the second last exception we are not talking about Li+ alone or Cs+ alone, we are talking about their carbonates... Also what u r saying is hydrated radii and what sir is mentioning is Hydration energy which is the energy released during process of hydration.. Both hydration energy and hydrated radii are different This is just what i understood... I dont know if i am right or not, so if u have better explaination u can also share
