Thanks for the lecture, it was very interesting, the answer to the question is, single covalent bond existing between two non-metals that shares a lone pair of electrons. Hydrogen attains a duplet structure while chlorine attains it's octet structure of stability.

1. Covalent bond. This is because there is force of attraction between two non metals atom A. Ionic bond is a bond formed when there is a complete transfer of electron from a metal to a non metal B. Single covalent bond is whe two atoms share a common electron
