Chemicals in plastic home products linked to health issues

A series of studies found that replacements for potentially harmful plastic compounds that were thought to be safer may be just as risky, especially for children. The phthalates are increasingly used to strengthen products including plastic wrap, soap, cosmetics and processed food containers. I've noticed a different taste if hot food gets placed into a styrofoam container before it's cooled enough, but just warm it's just fine next to the styrofoam container.

Pthtalates are found in household cleaner detergents and it can cause genital abnormalities on the babies at birth.
