Quick question,do they penalize us if we write CH3 instead of breaking it down???also when writing a structural formula,is there a specific side we should start on,like for instance maybe adding our alkynes and stuff??? because according to me its the same answer,but I need to know if there is a preferred starting point or either way is fine as long as the numbering is correct... I need to know this before I write tomorrow so please do respond. Thank you
@Envyius2 жыл бұрын
hi sir, i was wondering why it is that alkynes or alkenes will have a lower bp compared to alkanes ? is it because of the number of imf forces between them or something else

Sorry sir , can you please consider that part whereby we are talking about Degree of branching (shape) , So I wanted to ask if I'm correct if I write it this way 👇 Compound A *Large surface area *Strong intermolecular forces *More energy required to overcome the intermolecular forces Compound B *Small surface area *Weak intermolecular forces *Less energy required to overcome the intermolecular forces

Good day sir, provided we have a secondary/tertiary alcohol and a carboxylic acid, will the carboxylic have a high boiling point or they'll differ due to an increase in Oxygen(O) in the alcohol compounds
@MlungisiNkosi3 жыл бұрын
Yes carboxylic acid should still have higher BP due to the two sites of Hydrogen bonding.
