Sir u told that 2n square is used to find maximum number of electrons, but this formula is not applicable to every shells or period Only 1 st and 2 nd period is applicable sir? Please clear my doubt sir

2n² denotes the maximum number of electrons that a shell can accommodate. n refers to the principal quantum number of the shell.

Good evening sir, can you explain sterric hindrance, sterric effect and sterric effect in resonance? Thanks in advance.
@CHEMISTRYTEACHu4 жыл бұрын
steric means it is similar to molecular geometry(shape).Steric effects - each atom within a molecule occupies a certain amount of space. If atoms are brought too close together, there is an associated cost in energy due to overlapping electron (it means repulsive forces between overlapping electron clouds) and this may affect the molecule's preferred shape (molecular geometry) Steric hindrance - if large size of groups present within a molecule it prevents chemical reactions because of bulky size group so it creats steric hindrance (it means prevent the chemical reaction or barring) but this is just short explanation, later i will teach detailed in my videos

@CHEMISTRYTEACHu4 жыл бұрын
good question sago..if you want simple answer for this question - because of heat, more than 1000 F heat. If Anode and Cathode separator (thin layer) damaged by heat its will cause short circuit between these electrodes & catch fire in atmosphere . Actually its simple answer later i will put small video about this it will help you.

yes that 18 electrons are from 1st shell to 3rd shell . But that eight elements are 3rd shell elements, it means eight electrons filled from 3s1 to 3p6.

actually that is 3rd period not 3rd shell so there 8 elements in the 3rd period
