I have a thrifted sweater that I bought to reclaim the yarn, and because it's white I disassembled it but haven't unraveled it yet so I essentially have a bunch of blanks! I'm not sure what direction I want to go with it, but this is very inspiring.

I did a thrifted cream sweater with Apple Green and I’m so happy with the result as the resist gives it so much character and variation. Whatever you choose to do have fun!

Those were cool. I kind of feel like your yarn mop would have a lovely spring robin egg thing if you were to speckle it?

Oh that would be so pretty!

I had an idea for a new colorway: If you take one of these sock blanks (don't tie it into a tube), lay it flat on the table and starting at a narrow end, start rolling it up like a yoga mat. Then once it's completely rolled up, add a few zip ties for resist along the length of the roll and then dunk into a dye-bath. I would be so curious to see how the zip-tie resists pairs with the resist from the knit weave itself. Maybe like a snowstorm kind of pattern once it's unraveled?

I love this idea!

I folded up a blank once and dyed it in a tube, but it wasn't rounded it was more flat. This was also years and years ago. Maybe in one of the "sock blank special" playlists.

I wonder how it would look to dye a normal doughnut, then unroll it (wash let dry, etc) then roll it up from the other end and dye in a different color? Like dye it pink then dye it yellow (or any other combo that combines well?).
