Hi Carmen - I found your weaving videos, and was so impressed with the rainbow warp (beautiful color work) that I came over to see what other weaving videos you'd made. My hair has been all different lengths, mostly long, curly/frizzy, etc., and I **really** never knew what to do with it. About 2 wks after the 1st chemo round (for NHL, about 12 years ago) my hair fell out "kind of" as expected, but happened really suddenly. The first week by the brushful. The next week, by the sinkful. I decided that I couldn't watch it fall out anymore, so I had a friend take me up to a beauty parlour, and asked them to shave it off. It was the best decision I could have made for my hair, and to stay sane during treatment because it was one less thing to worry about. I just wanted to make it through the treatment. My head got cold too! but I would wear scarves, hats, etc. during the cold weather. About 3 months after the last round, my hair started to grow back pretty fast. Curly at first, then pretty straight. About four months after regrowth started I began my henna. The chemo nurses recommend waiting until your hair is really well re-established before returning to coloring again. I've gone back to keeping my hair long again (at one point I was able to sit on it), and I keep it up a lot (I spin & weave, so need to keep it back!), and I still do the henna, too. But about the cancer: the most important thing to me was getting from one minute/hour/day to the next. And I made it to the other side. I'm STILL HERE after 12 years. Thanks for sharing your chemo hair journey. Mine is growing back but it's too early to tell whether it will be straight or curly. So glad you've made it through!!

Hi, Carmen, I’ve been following your pixie cut videos and now see you have cancer. I also have had cancer and have a full computer folder called Hair/No Hair. I now have a Grade 4 and I still have hair (breast, so don’t know, I could be dead in a year or 10 years😮, no way to know) but will probably lose it at some point, they will keep switching meds and chemo until they all stop working ROFLMAO /s. I wish for you to do well and never have cancer again after treatment and to continue your hair journey!!!!!!!! And for me to do well and follow you when your hair is back. Oh I did have great hats and there’s a folder for hats because I never got a wig, hats were great though.😊

Losing my hair didn't bother me. My hair grew back straight instead of the really curly hair that I used to have. I never liked my curly hair, but now that it's straight, I do miss my thick curly hair 😂😂. Following chemo, I've never been able to tolerate any hair colouring on my scalp.
