I used to steam clean heavy equipment for a living. All day long for months at a time in all kinds of weather. It was always outside in the elements. -20C with 160C hot water at 4000 PSI was easier then a hot summer day believe it or not. You will learn after a while how to limit your time chasing grease around the machine. Like I said, it's easier when it's freezing. Simply get a layer of ice over everything, then blast all the heavy greasy spots. It won't stick to the ice. Then go around and rinse off the ice. That's the short version of many hints I learned the hard way. By the way, I was doing in preparation for sandblasting and paint. Big fancy workshops will get very messy in no time, which adds to the time of chasing grease. Sunlight dish soap is all I needed. I don't want chemicals splashing back in my face, the grease and dirt is bad enough.

You're right. Warm water can help cleaning chemicals work better because it increases the rate of chemical reactions. When water is warm, the molecules move faster and collide more frequently, which can speed up the chemical reactions between the cleaning agents and the dirt or grime you're trying to clean. In addition, warm water can also help to dissolve dirt and other contaminants more easily. Many cleaning agents are designed to work more effectively in water, and warm water can help to enhance their solubility and effectiveness. However, it's important to note that not all cleaning chemicals work better with warm water. Some chemicals may lose their effectiveness or even become hazardous if they are mixed with warm water, so it's important to read and follow the instructions on the label carefully. In some cases, cold water may be recommended for certain cleaning products. Grtz

The thing about full detailing heavy equipment is that it is 100% gonna get just as bad or worse as it was after some site work lol also on heavy equipment the grease gets everywhere from joint pins, I have found it easier to hit joint pins first so I’m not rewashing the machine every time I hit a pin. Great video!

C - chemical H - heat A - agitation T - time This acronym is what is needed to clean anything. All you need is 3 of the 4 to clean you just have to do more of the other three if you subtract 1. For example you said that it took longer with the cold water machine than it did with the hot water machine. Less chemical would require more agitation and vice versa. Cool video

I like to clean up the greased pin and not leave old grease, gives the new grease a chance to actually get to the area doing the work and lubricate it. Greasing into a grease compacted pin does nothing and leaves the pin without lubrication. Use a plastic spatula not a metal one to scape off the grease so you don’t damage the paint or the bearing or pin seals. Be careful using heat around grease zerks too, the spring in the zerk can take flight and lodge in your eye (true) and grease also flings, best to dissolve it with solvent and wipe it away.

I knew it would come, a simple but nice way to clean any kind of vehicle or equipment. I'm seventy three, back in the day when your car had to look its best, we spent hours detailing a car we were in love with that week. Good thing gas was twenty five cents cause the chrome store got most of our money for tailpipe extensions or panties and dice hanging off of the mirror in the center of the windshield. One of the prettiest girls around peeled her panties off and handed them to me for my car in front of the other girls vying for my attention of my lipstick red and white 57 chevy convertable. I saved every dime I could in 56 to pay cash for that car in december of 56. I wish now I had got the supercharger engine now as I had that car for years and years and it looked new when it went away. I have some cool stories on that old ride of mine.... but ya most likely not even gonna read this much

@Sak 20012019 actually blowing it with air makes it worse around Electronics because you're blowing the moisture further in. And I'm talking on a regular vehicle, not heavy equipment. You said it almost in passing, that using heat saved you a little time. Figure if using the heat for such a wash saves you between five and twenty minutes per wash, that's enough to add up to one or two less clients a day maybe more. So it gets into how much is your time worth in the end. However, if it's not that much of a concern for you, it makes no real difference to use hot or cold. I'm still rather important impressed with the total results. Mostly that what grease was left on the piece didn't end up being spattered all over the place.

I'm curious about the Kränzle in the US. Because here in Germany, their Industrial Powerwashers with a water boiler have the same pressure and higher flowrate than your pressure washer and it's less than half the price. Do you even have that version, as its 380v 3phase? And how expensive is it? Ohh wow I just looked it up, their wall mounted version is more powerful than your 7.5hp version and about a third of the price. So all you need is your foam injector and you have a full setup under $3500.
@ChemX
@ChemX Жыл бұрын
I think they make a nice machine actually, but this one was used and not able to run a foam cannon unless I rebuilt the pump, and when I was looking into it the repair kits were expensive and unavailable, and I didn’t have the time to tackle it regardless. I think out here in the states the tariffs and shipping costs must drive the price up quite a bit for the units your talking about, the KWS1200TS runs anywhere from $4000 to $5000 with 600 lower psi but 1.5gpm higher flow which totals 12000 cleaning units. The 7.5hp wall mount I use normally costs $5000 and totals 10500 cleaning units because of the lower gpm, but I prefer 3.5gpm over 5gpm for both water usage and also soap consumption. I think the main difference is I offer a 100’ hose with kew connects and stainless hardware and high psi swivels out at the gun, and the pump layout is more cost efficient for maintenance, overall each piece is more industrial and designed for use in tougher environments. We don’t use 380v out here but 480v 3ph is available for the same cost. If your looking to grab a machine for yourself though the KWS1200TS would be the way to go if your seeing that low of a cost over there.

@@ChemX I'm sure there is also some markup in price for the made in Germany branding for US customers. Oh you're right, I wasn't aware that the hose reels were so expensive. That does make your kit very similar in price point.
