Hey Auras! This year is so weird?! je crois qu'ils faut que tu vois les commentaires en coreens car si oui les fans a l'international sont plus content (en general ils sont positifs sur toutes les news de dating/marriage) en coree(leur marche principal) c'est l'inverse les fans veulent sa tete. je sais pas si t'es au courant mais les coreens n'ont pas la meme perception du marriage que nous les occidentaux.en occident avoir des gosses sans etre marie ne pose pas de probleme(en france 60% des bebes sont nee hors marriage)en coree(comme dans beaucoup de pays en asie) avoir un bebe hors marriage n'est pas du tout accepte par la societe,c'est pratiquement un crime national(seul 1,9% des enfants qu naissent en coree sont nee hors marriage le taux le plus bas dans les pays de l'ocde). en coree quand une personne a un enfant sans etre marie ils preferent abandonne l'enfant dans un orphelinat(mais ca c'est un autre sujet) ou ils decide d'avoir un "shotgun wedding" pendant la grossesse pour evite l'embarrassement en faisant genre que "c'etait prevu".je ne dis pas c'est ce que chen a fait mais c'est sa reste le sentiment general en coree. perso si ca tenais qu'a moi je m'en ficherai.le truc c'est que ca met son groupe dans une position difficile chen est entrain de devenir la risee partout en coree, les fans coreens demandent son expulsion du groupe pour evite la honte, les fans sites qui ferment a tour de bras...... bref c'est la merde.c'est bien pire que sungmin a l'epoque avec leur caprices de gamines , il met sa carriere ains que les autres membres en jeu. de toute facon les contrat de exo s'acheve bientot si chen continue d'etre actif dans le group les fans vont boycott comme ils ont fait avec sungmin des super junior. donc pour moi vaut mieux qu'il parte du groupe , mais reste chez sm entertainment, sinon on aura plus de exo.

In the end, being an idol is only a job. Them being in a relationship affect only their personnal life, it's got nothing to do with their job. It's like one day you got in a relationship and the customers at your job tell you you can't have this job anymore because you're in love, it's stupid. :') He's gonna be a father soon and good for him ! It’s time that idols stop being promoted as being the fans’ girlfriends/boyfriends and all that fan service skinship cutesie flirting stuff. It creates a delusional fan who can’t handle reality. Idols make music...that’s it. I think 2020 is going to be the year of change for Kpop especially as the world is watching now. So as international fans our continued support for Chen and any other idol who finds himself or herself in a difficult situation with toxic fans is more important then ever. We can make our support trend on social media and those toxic fans are bound to notice and not just dismiss us because “that’s not the way it is in Korea” , “we have no right to say anything because we don’t spend enough money to support the groups” , and all the other nonsense I’ve read over the years.

I agree. it can create problems for young impressional fans. I remember when a british boy band Take That broke up years ago. Some fan commited suiside. Crazy. I think kpop needs to stay great and fun. But keep the fandoms in reality a bit better and be more open about relationships. The fact that they hide them until they can't anymore, makes it so much more of a big deal when it comes out.

The only person that should feel betrayed in this situation is Chen, because he trusted his fans enough to tell them things about his personal life. People should realize that Idols don't owe us any explanation and what they do with their life is none of our business. Even if he is getting married because he got someone pregnant, he is at least being responsible and handling things as a real man! I’ve been waiting for you to make this video. Everyone should watch it because some people... REALLY seem to not understand and respect his choices. I mean, we all knew this was going to happen one day so like.. why can't people be happy for him?! Yesterday, I saw an article titled "Korean fans demand Chen to leave EXO after feeling "betrayed" by his marriage news". I didn't read it because I knew that I wouldn't be able to take it but just by reading the title, I felt SO furious and annoyed because like,.. Jongdae is literally the most caring and lovable person ever, he's a real angel!. He's also quite shy and so it must have been hard for him to announce that. But I am so happy and proud of him to have announced it by himself. It's so much more personal and decent. Just like you said, we didn't hear the news from k-media and I am so glad about it. And about k-fans, I do not understand their reactions!, like why are they acting so childish?! Why can't they just be happy for him?! I am so disgusted about them all.. How can they even call themselves "fans", seriously?! He’s done so much for us, worked so hard to always show us his best and this is how they thank him?! Jongdae owes them nothing!. Am I watching your video when I’m supposed to study for my exams of tomorrow? HELL YEAH I was taken by surprise as you were and like you said I’m happy that he was the one to the news to us. I think the reason why we didn’t have any informations of him dating before is because his wife-to-be is not a celebrity and doesn’t want to be in the spotlight, at least not for now. I have also seen some “irritating” comments of fans thinking it would be better for EXO (not even for him) to leave the group because he’ll taint the reputation of the group or he won’t have the time anymore. I mean, look at western artist! They get married, have children, basically have a life, but still do their jobs because this is what life is. It’s as if you stop working because you get married and have kids. I mean you can if you want but it’s not a fatality. Of course I am part of the people who are happy for him. I agree 100% of what you said. We're all (or most of us) are growing up and are more mature and yes it's a little hard to see someone you've admired for such a long time take this big step in his life but that's where the reality of being a fan is revealed. You can still admire and love him but be supportive and RESPECTFUL of where he's going with this new journey. I'm sure his wife was just as nervous to talk about this private yet exciting time in their shared journey. So don't make it harder or scarier for her either, she doesn't deserve it. At some point, i felt that he is the most nice and kind person in the whole world!! Chen is so powerful that he had the full tendency to trust us with such breaking news! I just feel that he already knew the fans' reaction before even revealing it because of what you described as "being mature"..and more importantly: he was fully convinced by his own thoughts and beliefs and trusted his girlfriend as well as proving his loyalty and responsibility towards her, unlike many other kpop idols who just preferred going through scandals or whatever.. Totally agree with you! I’m glad you’re voicing your opinion! Keep on doing it because I’ve been watching your channel since you reacted to 2ne1’s MAMA performance. Always appreciate someone who ACTUALLY knows about k pop opinions. And also so glad idols are having more confidence in just “revealing” their relationships because their dating life is not under control by delusional fans. the only slight problem I see with this is that every time idols get pregnant/get someone pregnant they always announce they’re gonna get married and then it’s revealed “oh btw they’re expecting a baby” it happened exactly the same to yulhee from laboum and soyul from crayon pop. I've always thought idols saying they loved their fans was kinda weird, but I took it as being grateful and loving their fans as like friends. Because let's face it, they may sell the boyfriend/girlfriend image but theres no way strangers who pay outrageous amounts of money for cds/dvds/merch/concert tickets are really gonna end up in a real relationship with their favs. We dont KNOW them, and the likelyhood of a fan getting the chance to really know an idol and befriend them, let alone date them, is slim to none. In my opinion the problem lays in the k-pop system that tries to sell this "k-pop idols are the perfect boyfriends/girlfriends" image, and that forbids idols from talking about their dating life and pushes them to always pretend like they're single and therefore available so it kinda encourages these fans to be delusional and to imagine that they have a chance with their idols/live in a fantasy world where they could actually be with them. I think it's kind of sick and twisted and its what creates these toxic/possessive fans.

I appreciate your opinion, and how you are so accepting of chen's situation. I keep on thinking of american celebrities and their relationship status. It's obviously more openly accepting of american celebrities to date AND still do their career...but the moment an idol decides to be in a relationship, it's almost perceived as if it's wrong. They're human like someone who isn't part of the entertainment industry. Like you said, the fact that chen is now a dad won't suddenly change how he performed. He'll be able to sing the same, dance the same, etc....the difference is, he has two additional people in his family that he'll care for, and it's a beautiful thing. As much as kpop culture is advancing, there's still values that I feel are still stuck in time. Relationships and simple interactions with different idol groups i public should be acceptable. They can't talk to other people in the industry? What's wrong with that? Sigh...we see the flaws, yet we obviously can't do much about it. It's up to the entertainment companies to make that change.

I really hope this is the start of normalizing idols dating and getting married. I have been a fan of Super Junior since 2009. I’m SO READY for them to get married and start families! I’m married myself and I know a lot of ELFs are getting married and starting families, so why so selfish?? This is reality! I won’t like them less if they were married!

I'm happy for him, it's a beautiful new step in his life and I hope it goes well! I saw some negative comments and actions after the announcement, but I also saw lots of positivity so, hopefully, that's what Chen will see. I said it for Momo & Heechul, but as fans, one of the best way to give back that love our idols gave us with their music, etc is to support them whenever they share those private parts of their lives with us. It shows that we want them to be happy. I kinda wish that this "idols are the fans boy/girlfriends" fantasy thing will end one day though... That always makes me so uncomfortable and it only helps to create those negative reactions whenever they end up actually dating someone.

My biggest issue with kpop has always been the fanservice. I hate it cause it creates a fantasy where stans think their ships are real or that they will marry them. Stans should be aware and never forget that kpop is manufactured and those idols are real people with real feelings and a life outside their groups. Honestly I'm very proud of Chen, I'm sure there probably are some idols who are secretly married and maybe even have kids but can't say it cause they're scared, yet Chen knowing how bad this could go, still opened up about it. And idk why knetz are also saying he's "ruining" EXO's image cause first of all they've never liked EXO at all. They're just using this whole situation to hate on them, specially him.

He is kind and loving person, and an extremely talented artist that has dedicated 8 years of his life to making amazing music for us. I agree with everything you said. it just makes me so upset that after the hard work chen and exo have done to bring us so much happiness, while some *cough cough* “fans” can’t give him back his happiness. he’s 27, a man at his golden age, the perfect age to start his own family and marry, ugh some people are so delulu. Everyone loves to call their favorite idols like their husband, or crush, or baby, but they don’t take it far, it just shows their love, but not to a creepy point. like saesangs, they take every step to see their favorite idol and stalk their every day life. Also I want to talk about the chen fan accs that closed recently, I thin outs absolutely absurd to release a statement that says, “all my efforts and time have gone to waste” WASTE?! what has chen done to you. He’s going to marry and start a family eventually and it’s the best time to start one right now. and on top of that, i don’t get why those “exo-ls ” love to spread rumors about when they marry and how long she’s along, it’s their personal life, and it’s none of our business, and it ends up with the same result either way and i know nothing bad would’ve happened to get them married. Exo have worked hard for the past soon to be 8 years, I don’t think chen could or will “destroy” their reputation that easily, it’s a huge fanbase, and not all of us who love him can drop him that easily. I’m glad many of us (int fans) are supporting him no matter what and making him and exo trend. Exo has gone through so many difficulties and stayed together for so long and they deserve all the happiness in their life after their hard work.

overall, i think it's unfortunate to see that idols have to publicly perceive themselves as only interacting with each other and no one else. Creating this atmosphere from day one, is the first mistake imo. I feel like this is one of the reasons why fandoms become toxic. You get so used to seeing them only talk to their group members. But the moment they talk to other idols, rumours develop that they are dating. So, if it was more acceptable to openly interact online, 'fans' would grow accustom to the fact that it's normal to talk to others, and realizing that yes, they do have other friends. As others already said, I do think they have to change the mindset that : "idols are gonna be single forever, so fans can continue to dream about being with them one day". You still have groups who say: "I don't have a girlfriend, fans are my girlfriends", so no wonder you have so many delusional fans. Lots of fans are considering idols as theirs and as "dolls" who should look and act how they want. When I see that Jungkook had to remove some of his piercings, cut his hair... because fans didn't like it, it makes me really sad. By the end of the day we don't know kpop idols, only what they (and the company) want us to see. I don't understand how you can become so mean towards someone you once appreciated just because they are humans and want to be in a relationship. I hope Chen will be really happy and others idols can follow his steps & live the life they want without giving a damn about fans opinions/reactions

I want to understand both sides, of course for international fans it's not hard to accept that idols are human and need their own private life and start a family when they feel it's right. But like, the whole concept of and 'idol' is basically "perfection" in human form, it's weird but true that idols do get signed to belong to their public, they all agree to that, hence the public has the right to demand him out of the group, it will be a huge loss for them though but it's their right to express that. We can't gain this battle on Chen's favor trying to change the way some of the fans view this but rather understanding them and continuing to explicitly show our support for Chen as an EXO member, and if they get to take him down...well, deal with it.
