Thanks so much for this. This is the only footage of Chen Yuxia I've seen so far (and I like it very much). From things I glean here and there I am starting to believe Chen Yuxia played a bigger role in the transmission than generally recognized. I practice Chen Style, the Hong Junsheng variant and I understand Chen Yuxia and Hong Junsheng maintained a close, good relationship (and I see many common things...)

My teacher says that when the students of Hong Junsheng wanted to learn the sword routine, he sent them to learn it from her. An interesting side note is, Chen Village isn't teaching the 49 move sword routine anymore, and is now teaching a 54 move sword routine that is very similar to the routine in Practical Method,.

Late "indoor" disciples of Chen Fa Ke who followed him to the end (except family members): Feng Zhiqiang(冯志强), Li Zhongyin(李忠阴), Xiao Qinglin(肖庆林), Tian Xiuchen(田秀臣), Tian Jianhua(田剑华), Lei Muni(雷慕尼), Hong Junsheng(洪均生), Li Jingwu(李经梧). Hope I didn't forget someone. Today (June 2019) only one still living is Tian Jianhua (田剑华，93)

This is Chen Yuxia, Chen Fake's daughter. Obviously she wasn't a "desciple" of Chen Fake, she need not to be one to learn from her father ;)

What are the sources identifying her as Chen Yuxia? A disciple of Chen Yu is saying she is not Chen Yuxia.

@@violentfox It's possible to be a great master of Wushu and to have a daughter that it's not interested in Wushu, or a daughter that didn't learn with his father but learned with one of his disciples. ;)

钟鸣 陈豫侠（1924年-1986年）：祖籍河南温县陈家沟，陈式太极拳一代宗师陈发科之女，其父取名豫侠，实希望女儿能成为河南籍一侠女，8岁从父练拳，天性纯厚、谦虚。拳法酷似陈发科公，剑法尽得发科公之精妙。

No esta del todo correcta . le falta fuerza potencia . las posiciones mas precisas. sin embargo mueve las manos con los dedos doblados hacia atras.. la forma esta bonita pero la falta mas tecnica y precision. por lo menos en el mortero. . me encanto que en la posicion de tener la mano al frente del tantien muy buena , no como otros que la colocan al costado de la cintura donde no corresponde. y de esos hay muchos,. y tambien hacen algo falso al comienzo de la Forma Lao Jia ,levantan las manos al frente con la Yang estilo y eso no existio en esta forma. acaso la adaptaron los nuevos Maestros,

So you are saying that the Chen style taught by Grand Masters like Zhu Tiancai and Chen Zhenglei, from Chenjiagou village, is not the original, but a fancy revisited version?

Yes, I lived in chen jia gou, I know chen xiao wang, chen zhenglei and chen zhao sen. I also coud meet other teachers in taiwan, and other place in asia, and I could see the difference, the only way to compare is to feel by practicing. Tai ji should be even more soft, light than what they teach now. In Chen village, the way they play tai ji is a way different, you can compare yourself the way old student of chen fake use to move, and now. In these days, they exagerate the spirales, making movement pretty, and more attractive, they like tui shou. Same thing with shaolin bak mei, and all other gong fu. Chen style became too popular, that's why usually, Wu style and other tai ji style are more authentic.

That's why, when we see this lady doing tai ji, we can easy think that it is different, not chen style, compare to what chen family is teaching now, but it was just chen style as they used to play before, very light, very soft, small spirale. She is here, in this video, doing medium spirale. They didn't really show in public how they play on their own. Smaller are the spirales, more you can concentrate the qi. You don't want to waste energy by doing unnecessery movement.

People usually play tai ji very slow, which is important, to store energy, but we also, beside that, move fast, small spirale, to concentrate and learn how to move it, control it better. But now this part is not teached. Have a good day !
