Very informative video. Just one word of caution. We have to wash the plant bought from the nursery to ensure that the fertilizers or chemicals used in the plant are removed. I generally do a saltwater bath for plants and rinse it before placing it in the aquarium. .

HI, Borewell are most likely hard water. Which is not advisable for OSCARS as they are from Amazon basins, where the water is soft. If we groom them in Hard water they wont throw up colors and the growth rate would not be to the max and the life span would decrease. So if you are planning for OScars try softwater(RO/CAN).The results would be quite Appealing.

julian jerald if oscars are shedding slime coat then there’s something that causes the fish to be in a stress.. but not a prob. It would happen sometimes. Oscars prefer dried shrimps or mealworms than pellets i had the same problem i tried many tricks but the end no result.

Bro in planted aquarium the water type depends on the type of fish and the plants. Some plants and fish require SOft water ( RO ) Some types require Hard water ( BORE WELL ) but again to determine if the water is hard or soft you need to do a PH TEST. If the PH is less than 7 then its SOft. If the PH is greater than 7 Then its HARD. If the PH is 7 Then its Neutral. This can be achieved by API PH KIT.

Hariharasudhan Chandrasekar initially u need to check the Tds if it falls under 50ppm then u need to. If not then not really required..also u need to check the ph and make sure its less than 7.

Act CArbon will remove the ions. So if you think there are ion content in your borewell, better try Act carbon. but remember the usage for Activated carbon is only for 3 months and after that you have to remove and replace with another one.
