Not to get money but to get her banned from the league. Zero remorse, she’s basically a psychopath. Prove me wrong. This is unacceptable and imagine if this move had put Caitlin out for the season? I don't know, a few more draft classes of good professional players might be enough. Reese is the only drama queen from last year and she'll be out of the league in 2 years unless she puts in some serious work in the gym. By then a lot of the dinosaurs will be retired or riding the bench. Hiring professional referees this winter going into the season will hopefully clean up all of the no calls we saw last year. Englebert being fired for utter incompetence will help a lot too. Add in the new TV money and the WNBA might actually make a profit for the first time ever...

I love that your content and commentary on things, but you've got to do just a bit of prep and include some of the videos of the events you reference. You know you're gonna talk about Carter's cheap shot. You know you're gonna talk about Clarkson squaring off. Think of other examples you might bring up - like the Seattle flagrants - and have them ready to show. The best basketball channels I follow splice in clips as they talk about them. Even if it's "Take a look at this then we'll talk about it." with a hard cut to the clip (no voiceover). Again, love your perspective and how you get good commentary out, but it hurts that 90% of the time it's just you looking at a tweet.

This is not a hockey league. Enforcers don’t belong in a basketball team’s strategy. For all of the garbage that has happened in the intention of punishing CC for being a skilled player, why is there no dialog about coaches setting standards and boundaries for the players? Weatherspoon should have sat Carter’s butt on the bench for the rest of the game. Instead, she either encouraged it or looked the other way. Either way, she supported the violence. The W is the way it is right now because crappy coaches and other leaders are not setting better standards & expectations.

If I'm the Fever, I would have taken up Angel McCoughtry's offer to be an enforcer for CC if CC isn't going to protect herself. If McCoughtry checks Carter into the stands after that bush league move, I bet these players are going to be MUCH more hesitant to do shit like that. Jordan had an enforcer, Mario Lemieux had an enforcer, & Bird was his own enforcer. You protect yourself or acquire someone to protect you as a star. All this stuff ends when emotional players have pay a physical price for not being able to control their emotions. Facts of life.

Carter is right. This incident would have been handled differently in the NBA. Firstly, they don't let you get away with cowardly sucker punches in the NBA. My sense is that one of Mick's major issues with this is Carter's very sad continued sabotaging of herself. She really is a good player, has the fire and skill to add excitement on the court, and it's tragic that she can't seem to process things well enough to learn not to destroy herself.
