I've just stumbled upon this film and I was glued to the end. The story is relatable, cinematography is top notch and the actors' performance is, as indeed the entire film, award winning. Thumbs up to the entire team for bringing the unspoken, but sad reality of our lives as actors, to the screen.

Brave. Showing the ugly underbelly of the industry. Well done guys! The story is succinct and flows great through out. I really enjoyed the overhead shots of Nairobi. It was just especially beautiful in this film The part Brian’s character was preparing the equipment felt like a physical manifestation of how much a creative invests in their craft only to just take what they can get. Heartbreaking.

This is great. Great acting too, and I think other pros can speak for the technical bit but I like it too. Scriptwise, this script speaks to the heart. Anybody in the Kenyan art scene (I don't have the courage to call it an industry) will relate. It is one of the most real local scripts I have seen. A few loopholes though, I feel the scene at the restaurant was unnecessary. The theme of sexual harassment (which I think was supposed to be portrayed here) is so big to be just mentioned in passing without a resolve. It is as big as the theme of money which is adequately tackled. I think it would work either as a film on its own or given more prominence even in the current script but I guess that would make the film longer. Second, the supposed lynching of the rogue producer dragged for a bit long than necessary. Also question remains, how does that solve the actors' financial predicament at that moment? Something is missing too:signing of the contracts, and why those contracts do not work. Isn't it because people believe it takes a lot of money and time to file a lawsuit? Isn't the legal way something to explore too? All in all, this is a good film. I will rate 6/10.
