As Leicester City celebrations go, pub landlord Brian Priest’s is perhaps the best bar none.
Mr Priest and a task force of about 16 people spent the weekend painting the entire outside of his Leicestershire village pub in City’s blue and white colours.
“It’s had a pretty good reaction” he told the Mail, of his striped makeover. “It was just a bit of fun, but it’s been covered by Sky News and gone viral on the internet!”
Mr Priest (62), landlord of The Chequers pub in Swinford, near Lutterworth, is no City bandwagon jumper.
He’s been a City season ticket holder for 40 years, and was there last Saturday when the Foxes were finally presented with the first Premiership trophy of their 132-year history.
“I’ve been watching City since I was eight or nine but this season has been remarkable” he said.
