OhbobNo! I have bottles of both and have tested ad nauseam and both are extremely close on my skin. For me the newer is slightly more cream where as the old is more syrup and I’m splitting hairs. I get a little more hay In the old. Decent amount of iris from both. If I wore the new and walked by someone that has both, they wouldn’t be able to tell which version I had on. Better to have the new than to never experience it at all.🍻

I bought the old formula when it was still available for decent money and I bought a 50 mil bottle of the new just out of curiosity amidst all the reformulation speculation. I would absolutely believe if it’s been reformulated but to me it’s still nearly identical.

Chergui puts me in a very contemplative and nostalgic mood. I adore it- I feel like I’m back in the 90s/00’s I only have a partial of the OG formula. I get a very coumarin heavy fragrance. I pick up Hay, Coumarin, Iris. It becomes very sweet, nutty and reminds me a lot of the 2002 formula of Dior addict (dry down) I don’t get tobacco in Chergui. My partial only has about 10ml left in the bottle so I immediately went searching for the oldest and largest bottle I could afford. I can’t afford $300 plus dollars for 1 fragrance.

What’s up, Bobby. It is reformulated. The juice color is considerably lighter now compared to the older labels. I’ll get my older box out and compare ingredients. The lighter stuff is better for your hot temperature environment

Excellent topic, to me there is a difference apart from the obvious visual. But is the reformation enough to not track down an original...no. But I'm also guilty of having the old style bottles over the current black presentation regardless of scent!

I hear a lot about how finding/collecting Serges are presently, ...I hope the company is in good standing with a strong vision into a tough future. Which is more than I can say for Chanel, Celine and Dyptique which I also sampled. Currently on a beach with family in Ko Phi Phi Thailand, just wearing Nuxe Prodigieuse with a view to wearing Timbuktu this evening for a Seafood blow out at a beachside restaurant.
