I was also quite taken with this one. Reminded me a bit of Fumerie Turque and Veilleur de Nuit (for its chocolate note). And I agree that this scent is more appealing to th "old school" Serge Lutens fans like we are. :-) On that note, there was a beautiful small exhibition at their Palais Royal boutique last week. Around roses and their perfumes like , Sa majesté la Rose, Rose de Nuit, La fille de Berlin...

How I regret not being here for the live ! Yes, Fumerie Turque still exists in the "gratte-ciel" bottles. Also, in french, "écrin de fumée" can both be what surrounds the smoke or, if you will, a box of smoke. Pretty sure I will like this one.

Not much of a tobacco fan myself, but glad to see people seem to be liking this one! I was wondering if you'd ever tried Zoologist Sacred Scarab. I think you mentioned finding the brand in general a bit too gimmicky - which I can definitely see! - but Scarab feels very old school (and to my nose, refined) and yet not like any particular perfume I've tried, I'd love to know what you'd make of it.

I got a 10ml sample of it today when I bought Serge Lutens Chergui, which I absolutely adore… and I loved this sample of Ecrin De Fumee so much, I’m off tomorrow to but that as well. It evokes a French chinoiserrie inspired era to me. 🥹🤩
