@@DrunkDadsWatch If you have the footage anyway, you could always post the react to the end part as an extra video. It is always interesting seeing people find out about Emily Watson's character being a representation of hundreds of scientists and engineers, and seeing people's faces when they find out that the 3 divers had long lives and 2 even survive to the time of the making of the show. But if you both think it is not worth seeing, then so be it. 👍😎

This is probably one of the best tv products of the last 25 years. HBO rarely fails to deliver. It’s a gem. Anyway, many agree on the fact that it was heavily dramatized to make it more “easy” and “catchy” to watch. The events were a bit more complex than that. Dyatlov is an example: he was a harsh man, for sure, but he wasn’t the foolish asshole as it was depicted in the show, and this is confirmed by the crew members that survived, who never blamed him for what happened. There’s a full hour interview on YT with english subtitles in which Dyatlov himself explains the chain of the events and how they developed, and his words are confirmed in a recent interview from Stolyarchuck who basically states that they were doing their duties as any other day and they had no idea of what could have happened, being completely unaware of the design flaws of the reactor. I’m not trying to lift these men from their responsibilities, but they were all operating under a system that was trying to hide his darkest secrets in order to shine bright to his opponents. Dyatlov was the scape goat, and it’s pretty unfare that the tv show depicts him like that.
@elric53719 ай бұрын
Plus the show completely misinforms people of how the reactor exploded.

I can't even pick favorite episode. I love how they build the structure of the story with each episode. 1st eps is like chaos, confusion and frustration (from seeing all the denials). 2nd ep is like this huge revelation & awakening. 3rd eps highlights the length that the ppl have to gone through & suffered, eps 4 with the long war that again showing us the price they have to pay, and then ofc the answers at the final eps. Just amazing show!

Dont be shocked by the computer warning when they started the test. It is normal when testing systems that alarms and computer warnings go off because of that fact that the computer doesent know better. Thats how you figure out if everything works as it should or not. Im not a powerplant operator but in a controll rom for ship engineering its totaly normal to test systems and then alarms will go off.

By the way, thinking in this socialism-communism works according to the motto "The individual can make mistakes, but never the whole system". This explains the lack of any responsibility among the “leaders” of the state. Only that is to blame, in this case the description is incompetent asshole, little cog of the boss in the place. The Nomenklatura does not even ask itself the question of how such a pitiful figure could get to such an important position. Everything is fine - everything is fine, we do it as usual. We send tens of thousands of people to Chernobyl, they "repair" the thing and everything is fine again. If it costs thousands of lives in the USSR and the other countries, no matter what, we've had enough of it. We lie about the rest as much as we can. Luckily we had good measuring devices in the West (I was a West Berliner at the time) and everything was revealed. We knew earlier than most Russians what an “insignificant” catastrophe had happened. Oh, by the way, in case some people don't know, the KGB was the employer of Putin and his cronies (called advisors) for a long time. Of course, people of this type have a “strong” interest in democracy and free speech. They have created their own state that only works according to their rules and demands.

You should do any of the Mike Flanagan netflix series: Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Fall of the House of Usher. They're all only one season so long enough to get invested but not for multiple seasons. The story ends by 10 episodes and it's some of the most brilliant emotional horror out there
@iKvetch5589 ай бұрын
Welcome to the final episode...well done getting through this show...it is a tough one. I really like the way the makers of the show added the notes at the end to cover some of the things they got wrong, simplified, or made more dramatic...I just wish they had done more of that, or been more honest. For example, they say that "it has been reported" that everyone on the "Bridge of Death" died...but those reports are very much NOT true....so technically, they are being truthful, but not quite. Other things they do not admit to, I can understand...such as the fact that Legasov was not even at the trial of Dyatlov and company...but it is kind of necessary to turn him into a kind of hero figure and have him do much more than he really did so that the story can be simplified enough for most folks to keep track of.
@windsaw1519 ай бұрын
Of course the show has many inaccuracies but the Bridge of Death was the one thing I really wish they didn't put in, implying that it was anything but a hoax.

@@DrunkDadsWatchThank you so much for putting it up. That scene was really needed, as they disclosed what happened after and what dramatic license they made. None of my business, but the speccy guy consistently looks over at his beardy pal (I don’t know why, maybe for some sort of approval?). Many of the times he does so, he misses things 🤷🏻♂️ He ought to have more focus and interest as the bearded guy has.
