Just went there today and even though it was closed I could still walk around to see everything. It was truly a heartbreaking experience, really makes you reflect on life and be appreciative for what you have in what we feel like are 'crazy times' now. Makes me proud to be Cherokee

I’m mixed my Cherokee heritage comes from my Dads side of the family. ..I remember my grandmother telling me about this and how they had to take the ferries down the river to where our family resides now here in Iuka, MS. This brought tears to my eyes. ...

But no one tells the truth as to why, they didn't sign those treaties by choice. What did the Mingo say "the Cherokee will leave their Homeland and go away in hopes to live to fight another day". We were losing to many children and without rifles enough of them and an army you can't fight back., 💔💔💔😭😭😭. We had great leaders who wanted nothing more than to protect their people.

Osyio my great grandmother on my mother's father's side was full blood Cherokee. And as for my white side I'm very sorry for all the wrongs they have done. To the people please accept my deepest apology for what they did. I will send you a picture of my mother and great grandmother. As soon as I get to take them on my phone. I might have one of my mother. If so I will be sending it shortly
