Gayle Ross (Cherokee Nation) shares stories of her culture. Her grandmother told stories and it is from this rich heritage that Ross's storytelling springs. During the past 25 years, Ross has become one of the best loved and most respected storytellers to emerge from the current surge of interest in this timeless art form.
This is the second of two storytelling sessions that was webcast from the National Museum of the American Indian imagiNATIONS Activity Center on August 9, 2013.

"The sun is a women; powerful, life giving, strong, of course she's a women. The moon; handsome, but doesn't do much, he is a man." I laughed so hard at this. That was really funny. Wish we were taught more in school of Native American culture.

Wonderful stories and wonderful storyteller. I appreciate so much the full US history woven throughout the traditional Cherokee stories. We should tell all American children the history of the Cherokee removal. Thank you.

I am a decendant of John Ross. The chief of the Cherokee Nation. Who was half Cherokee. John represented his people before the United States government. He and his wife Kakie, led the Cherokee Nation on the Trail of Years!" Kakie was around 18-19 at this time, she had a son, then shortly passed away on the Trail of Years!" John was left broken hearted, and alone to raise his son. I cannot begin to express to you the pain and sorrow that my people have endured, for progress!" My maiden name is Ross. Could you please explain to me why?, there are so many Ross families in Ohio and West Virginia?"
