@@CoolClassics Do we know about what happened to the little boy as he grew up? Did he ever see that money for his own benefit since he couldn’t work after his mother took it all and the house? Any updates on the story after or when Lucy became rich? Did her father or grandfather ever get to enjoy her riches while they were alive and she maybe kinda paid them back for all their past troubles? Thank you for this video! Never heard this before!

What was an unfortunate accidental gun shooting, which turns into an entire town acting like a "lynch mob" of sorts, which also included the Judge, who in effect turned the family into poverty by taking away all their assets. Misjustice at its worst. Good thing that Lucy recovered from that and became a legend. Interesting story, thanks for sharing this! And Lucy became a legend again, when she saved the Star Trek series from early cancellation while it was just getting started, which became a big franchise.

When Lucy made it in Hollywood, she went and got her Mother and Brother and moved them out to live by her and Desi. They gave Freddy one of his first big jobs, the Tour Manager for The Desi Arnaz Band. Eventually Freddy was on the board of directors of Desilu Studios and lived a long happy life along with their mother, thanks to Lucy and Desi coming back for them :) Frederick Henry Ball (July 17, 1915 - February 5, 2007) was an American movie studio executive and younger brother of Lucille Ball.

Kind of makes me wonder what happened to the neighborhood girl that accidentally shot the little boy. How was she treated by the community? Something like this has to be so traumatic, I wonder if she was mentally okay after.
@LJ-ht4zs
@LJ-ht4zs Жыл бұрын
The neighborhood girl was Freddie's friend slightly younger than he - he was 12 she was 10. That family immediately moved away and was never heard from again. This disappearance worked to the detriment of the Lucille's family as she was not able to testify re the validity of the of the true story. One could understand, however, that since she was the shooter and the neighborhood was so stirred up, that the girl's family was interested in protecting her. 1. The boy's mother was traumatizing to all. And it is so weird that she ran around telling the neighbor's an untruthful story, rather than run to the hospital with her son. I believe the boy died several years later. 2. While all the mother's stories were lies - one thing that stayed with me. Fred's friend was I believe age 10 - and should not have been allowed to join the shoot. In that way, the grandfather was negligent in allowing a young girl to join the target practice. While I do not believe the mgf was "criminally negligent" but do believe he was negligent for allowing her to participate, and allowing the boy to sit and watch, in that from what I recall about the story, he was young too and rather fidgety and when his mother called - he immediately jumped up and ran right in front of the firing line. The whole thing was a tragic accident, but could have been avoided - if Warren had been told to go home and the girl was no allowed to participate.
